Who the heck invented that? It is the post-writer's equivalent of dropping your pants, closing your eyes, and hanging a "kick me" sign around your neck.

I'll let others decide which Manga stylist Poe most resembles. I can't afford to read that stuff. My only contribution to comic art appraisal was pointing out that Hansagan at <i>Angels 2200</i> appeared to be heavily influenced by Mort Drucker. That one flew right past everyone.

The artistic similarities are broad but visible if you've been trained in the Brisbanian school of art appreciation, such things as both artists, Poe and Takahashi utilise some kind of facilitator to express ink upon the paper and that they use a medium such as paper or as we call it in the industry: Rip.
That both use things such as the femur ,the patella,the tibia and the the fibula to support their frame whilst in artistic composition and ocular elements found above the previously listed tools are used for corrections.
Outside of these obvious similarities the connections are pretty vague.
