This boy's all fucked in the head. He has da Powah of a Goddess surging within him and he's not using it for personal sexual gratification. That's just wrong. Altruistic Goody-Goody Two Shoes needs a Labrat Enema, stat!

Of course the look on Meji's face on the 1st panel looked wonderful and almost made her look almost human instead of the normal energy-sucking scary lil' mage wanna-be.

If she doesn't get him on his back and ride him into the sunset getting some Hot Pig Sex, then by Poe she's just not right in the head either.

Of course, the better he becomes at healing, the better he will become at 'reverse healing' D:

Although I realise I'm in a minority here, I think that there might other story-lines than hot-pig rampant sex to satisfy. I do have a feeling that Ian, and the others, will be very, very busy from now on.

However, if somewhere in the storyline there could be a teeny smidgin of a space twixt the slaughter and the healing for meji, ian, leah *and* riley to get it on collectively and at the same time, I'd be grateful.

Meji seems... happy to see Ian? That's a first, I wonder if she actually cares about what happens to him. As for the healing - practice makes perfect, as they say.

Still, Ian's "Why not" answer feels a tad fatalistic. I wonder if he realizes that performing these feats will bring the elven army upon the town in short order.

Ian is going down the wrong path here. Time and again people reveal their "powers" and promise to use them for good, but can't really maintain that level of godhood, and they end up losing to themselves.

If anything, Ian will heal a few people and rumors will start to stir, possibly bringing the elves down upon the village. I would hate to see a showdown of slaughter between the elves and the half-elves with god-like Ian in the middle. I'm sure everyone would be wiped out (with the notable exceptions of Meji, Leah, and Riley -- they would, of course, survive).

Then again, perhaps Ian will change someone in a way they don't want to be changed. Rumors will start to spread then, too. He'd be ostracized and railed against, probably as a heretic than as a saint.

Of course, the final possiblity is that his healing starts to go horribly wrong and he begins to think of himself as a monster who can't help humanity and tries to hide away, but leaves a trail of destruction in his wake. This scenario might come about if Anilis has any will inside him -- she may not take kindly to him using her powers for this if she has other plans.

I don't know, I still think Sarine is going to buckle under Jon's constant references to their forgotten sweaty sex. She finds something attractive about humans, between her ex-husband and Jon, so it's bound to happen again eventually... lets just hope that eventually isn't "eventually" in elven terms.

Are the bookies against long term bets on elven or ensigerum reactions to Ian healing everyone? Then again, I guess there's a fine line between reactions and Ian sending up a beacon signal saying "I'm right here elvish army".

There's always the possibility of Ian healing everyone, slaughtering the Elves almost to the point of extinction, KOing the Ensigerum with ease and then finally getting the notice of someone even he can't handle - Elven Death God and/or Necron horde anyone?

The Elven Death God thing has been done; somewhere in Greco-Roman mythology there was some physician/healer who was so good that the ghod of the underworld complained to Zeus/Jupiter that he wasn't getting his daily ration of souls, so Z/J zapped the guy with a thunderbolt. Poe seems to be reasonably aware of old legends and is a fairly creative fellow, so one doubts that he'll do the exact same thing as in those old myths.

Funny that when I saw this, a dimly-remembered quote from a trivia contest popped into my mind: "He who fights with monsters must take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you."

What makes it funny is that it's from Nietzsche, who's probably about as much of an anti-Ian (and vice versa) as one can imagine.

That last line of Ian's had a touch of finality to it... you figure we're going to cut to Sarine, Sara, and Jon soon?

I'm with you here. I don't see too much else that Poe can do on this end. Besides, I'm dying to see Sara's reaction when she's woken up by Jon and Sarine.

I think that Ian brings out the best in Meji. I think she knows it. I think that what Ian is planning to do is for a good cause, and that it will only lead to tears. No good deed goes unpunished.

Nah. Destruction is easy. Any idiot can break things and kill people. Sure, as he practices with Anilis's power, he can throw bigger and bigger fireballs, lightning bolts, earthquakes, etc. But at some point, the difference won't be that big a deal. I mean, does it really matter whether you can kill 100,000 people in one shot or 100,001? Especially if we assume that his magical defenses progress at a similar rate.

The thread title reminds of an RPG where I kept killing and resurecting some schmuck NPC for my own personal amusement. "Let's see what happens when I stab that artery. Oops! There she goes again! Ha ha! Rise, my puppet! Now I wanna see what it's like burning through your chest with a shaft of molten metal! Hold still."

Also, in a vein more relevent to the topic at hand and the comic, I direct thee to my signature below.

Now I like seeing people at least functional, despite how perfection is an abomination within my eyes. Nobody should have to go through life entombed in a broken shell, a burden upon their own souls and those whom they love. The edge of a finely honed knife is better in many cases, though often enough it is not necessary as the victim of fate can sometimes scrounge happyness from places where you and I would find only ash.

Ian is indeed performing a great deed, though it remains to be seen if it is truely selfless or if it is to make him happy or quell some inner guilt. For now, many good things will come of it... but I have no faith in things staying that way. The doorway shall be opened by the Demon known as Necessity and it bears a one way path.

Oh, the mix-and-match fornication chatter is part of the standard background noise on this forum. You have to sift through the static and figure out for yourself who seriously wants this to be a porn strip and who's just venting their sexual frustration in between relevant comments.

That air of nobility Ian is surrounding himself with heaves with fraudulence.

If there's one thing I learnt at school in film studies, it's that in terms of a noir, when a characters face is shaded to black it implies they have something to hide.

Ian has a hidden agenda.
