Too bad they have not invented novelty t-shirts yet.

Relics, man. Thats where the money is at.
A pouch full of the ashes of messiah Ian's home. Some water he has blessed. A few beads you scrounge up and tell them are holy.

You're thinking small. A scrap of the cloak/trenchcoat Ian wore during his holy pilgrimage into the heritic library, the charred bones of the elves he blasted in battle (which look suspiciously like the remains of a barbecue disaster), ashes from his home are good, but holy water and beads? Pfft. Small change. You need something CONNECTED to him, man. You're selling cobblestones that St. George supposedly peed on in a drunken stupor when you could be selling the shroud of Turin or a piece of the true cross.

When Ian becomes a martyr, which we all know he will (even if he dies in an insane attempt to enslave the entire universe to his will, the spin from the PR department in the Church of Ian will still make him out to be a saint), relics will sell for even more. Think about it- when an artist dies, his paintings suddenly skyrocket in value, because he won't be making anymore. Same goes for messianic figures.

Besides, considering how similar Tsuriaku seems to our own culture in many ways, who's to say they DON'T have novel t-shirts? Heck, Impy and Poe could get in on that with shirts that say things like "Ian did it", "Ian died for our sins", "Member of the First Baptist Church of Ian", etc.

Damn it your right, Meji needs to off him to improve the value of the merch.

What about a t-shirt that says "Ian Did Me?"

Would that sell?

^-^'

Edit: It occurs to me to specify that I'm talking about Ian healing people. Of course.

I think the shirt would sell better without that edit, or if it was at least in fine print disclaimer.

Just deleting the extra post will do for now.

Except that it's kinda impossible for anyone but a moderator to delete a post after someone has replied to it.

speaking of crap to buy, what ever happened to Exploitation Now: Done with it all? Did it ever get printed? Can I buy it somewhere?

Last I heard, we were looking at late 2007/early 2008. Impy and Poe decided that was too long in the waiting for preorders to still be open.

Thanks for the (old)news.
I guess we're all waiting now.

With bated breath (whatever that means).

Meanwhile, is Ian doing his faith-healer thing under a picnic shelter?

Edit for Spelling. http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-bai1.htm

Yes that appears to be a picnic shelter. Can't see any graffiti from this distance... but you know it's there.

As a n00b, what's the significance of a "picnic shelter" and graffitti? I feel acres of unknowing-ness opening beneath my feet ... indulge me please whilst I hum along to the Borodin quartet and fold paper ... b/c will do

The picnic shelter is not significant. I've just seen a lot of them.

Yeah, but Optimus Prime has died for our sins about a dozen times by now. Its lost its charm.

"Oh, Optimus died to save us all again? Eh, third time this month."

Shit, the only people who die more often than Optimus Prime would be Goku and Kenny. And they refuse to stay dead too.

It's a shelter for livestock and/or fodder. When you only own four cows, loosing three of them to a lightning strike is a major tragedy. Same thing with losing lambs to hailstorms, etc.

Or 30 or 40 sheep as sheep tend to gather under trees during a storm.

And just remember, you must face the gazebo alone.
