DUN DUN DUN!

Finally we get to some hot hot zombie-on-zombie action. Not that Jesus-Ian wasn't fun and all... but you all know this is what we've been waiting for...

This isn't necessarily the end of Jesus-Ian. Jesus brought a couple of people back from the dead...

Am I the only one thinking Meji might have the good sense to try to talk him out this?

I mean, imagine the incredible emotional strain when his sister rises from the dead, and is mostly like she used to be, but missing pieces of who she is. She'll be quick to anger, and the equivalent of an Alzheimer patient. Then, Ian will realize his mistake and have to kill her.

This is going to crush him.

Yup, Meji's on a roll, here, trying to help the guy. She should have a few horror stories in hand about what happens when you try to raise the dead,

Trying to talk him out of it won't work... She needs to fuck it out of him. Preferably in some very interesting ways, over the next dozen or so strips.

It's divine intervention time, of the Meji flavour.

As much as I'm anticipating the result of Ian's furor, I'm trying to figure out Ian's mother's name on the headstone. All I can figure out is MAD _ _ _, with one or more of the following in the last three letters: E, T, M or N. I can't figure out any 'normal' (read: non-Tsuiraku human) names that would fit this description.

I do think it's very appropriate that the only part of the name that you CAN read is 'mad'.

This actually makes probably the best sense. It will distract him long enough for the rational/reasonable part of him to re-assert himself and prevent him from doing something stupid.

Ian is not exactly the most rational or reasonable person right now.

Here's another twisted notion to make this option almost as fun as Zombies. Sex will transfer some of the power to Meiji. Sex could be the one way to shift power back and forth so that neither is all powerful and goes crazy like Ian is right now. Sex could keep you sane...literally.

All the best,

Nani?

Madeline, or some spelling variant?

the text on the grave marker was ' Madeline Samael' and 'In death may she find the peace that eluded her in life'.

Funfact: Madeline (or more acturatly just 'Maddy') was actually what I had originally named Ian's sister in the very early script of this chapter. However later on, when I wrote Ian's dialog for the first page of chapter five I had completly forgoten I had already gave her a name and pulled 'Evelyn' out of my ass. And so the name got defaulted to his mother who I never bothered to make up a name for.

You subconsciously kept the "line/lyn" ending, at least.

Evelyn seems a more fitting name for an innocent caught in tragedy. It's little girl's name, whereas Maddy is an older woman's name, and draws to mind a rather stiff and upright sort of woman.

So now Ian's going to bring back his beloved family member, only to realize in horror that she's now a puss-spewing pile of organs.

Wait... wrong fandom. :-?

I'm glad you went with Evelyn. Makes for some nice synchronicity.

One of my housemates is named Ian Sanitate. One of his oldest friends goes by the name Evelyn. And there was, once upon a time, an "Ian did it" meme amongst them. (Ian is infamous for doing various "its"... splitting a couch in half with the swing of a baseball bat, running himself over with his own car somehow, etc).

We all got a good laugh when I first heard about this and told them about ES, with which they were not previously familiar.

Has anyone here ever read Jim Lee's Divine Right?

There is a point in the story were the main character begins to believe his own hype, and fall to the temptation of power.

This scene gives methe same sinking feeling that one did.

Good bye Ian, Meji will have to take your ass out at some point, so I;ll jsut say bye bye now

I foresee a requirement for chainsaws and boomsticks in the near future. I agree that Meji should regale Ian with stories of Necromancy gone wrong, then jump his bones to distract him for a while. The problem is that I think she cares too much about him now so the copulation would no longer be casual.
