Reminded of Ep 46 of Fullmetal Alchemist. Got the body right, but it's just a shell. Though in theory, one could create an artificial soul by recreating all the memories and giving the construct autonomy. Just have to watch out for what happens when the construct finds out that it's not the original. |

I wonder if her body functions without her soul? I doubt Ian would leave her body alive if she wasn't in it, but what would become of it if he did? Would it develop an identity, or is it incapable of doing anything? Damn, Friday is too far away to see what happens next... |

Umm... Can't help but notice that Ian's finding himself going into a stereotypical diabolical rage. You know, the kind of rage that causes people like him to level continents. Should be interesting... Also, holy hell, is Evelyn creepy in the second panel. I mean, moreso than usual for an empty shell of a person. |

This page is the best we've seen in... a long time. Evelyn is just the right flavor of creepy and yet beautiful, and Ian is remarkably expressive. Plus I really like the last panel. |

I agree creepy undead girl with those eyes but still I can't shake the feeling Ian's about to do something really, really, really, really stupid. Its that no in the last panel it just gives me the impression he's really saying "No I wont give up I will bring back your soul. |

I notice what appear to be distortion / energy waves in the last panel (BTW I'm very impressed with Poe's ability to represent somewhat realistic glowing plasma-like stuff in a black and white comic). I'm thinking that perhaps this is some sort of... soul-juice or something, flowing out of Ian. It looks an awful lot like the glowy plasma tentacle monster that raped him in the giant magical potato thingy. Perhaps he is funneling a bit of Anilis into her to animate her body? That then leaves open the question of whether this Anilis-power still has any consciousness left to itself, or if it was just a big ball of magical energy (the tentacle rape scene would seem to imply the former, but Ian's lack of any sort of alternate personality seems to imply te latter). It also leaves me wondering whether Ian thinks giving Lyn's body a spark-of-life will bring Lyn herself back, with memories, personality, and such. If he's doing what it looks like he's doing, I think he must, but... how could that be? Maybe they're all stored in the (newly restored) brain, and all that's lacking is the spark? Addendum: Is Ian wearing gloves, or have his hands just turned black in the past few strips? There's not a lot of places where you can see his hands recently, prior to his comment about how it feels like he's on fire. |

I noticed something no one's mentioned earlier. His nose started bleeding in the previous comic. Not a lot, but that should show just how much of himself he had to pull together to do the Animate Corpse. Of course in the last panel when he screams "NO" it seems to rest on his upper lip and give him a pseudo-Hitler. |
