So we're finally reaching the point where Ian connects with his roots... and it brought to mind what the other character's names were based off of.

If I remember right, Amraphel was Babylonian? How about the others?

Amraphel was a great king of Babylonia, supposedly identified with either Hammurabi (see: Hammurabi's Code of Laws) or Nimrod, though the latter is disputed and seen as much less likely.

Amraphel was the king who seized Lot and his brood from Sodom and Gomorrah and were attacked by Abraham and his men, completely wiping out Am and his forces.

If name origins have anything to do with the story, Jon and Sara got the proverbial "shit end of the stick" here.

The closest I can fathom Hinadori is Japanese hina(dori), which is roughly a chick or very young chicken. I guess that's sort of fitting, lol.

And new people keep confusing Meji with Meiji, so that might be something...

The Meiji era, and hina (dori).

Dying age of the samurai little chicken?

I think that represents Meji a little bit, lol
