No crazy demigods in a fit of rage.

No undead sisters.

Just an angry Imperatrix.

...

I must say, a refreshingly ordinary update.

And yet if there's a character in this comic that's going to 'set the world on fire', Anita is it.

I don't know about that. Anita could set a city on fire. Maybe a country. But if you want to set the entire world on fire, I think you might need to go to Ian.

You think? It's just calm before the storm and anyone not running for the hills right now is an extinction waiting to happen.

Um, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.' If Poe doesn't come up with a good way for her to do something badass I'll be sorely dissappointed. All that build up for her to be an Überbitch wasted, now that would be a shame.

The Imperatrix now has a British Accent in my head!

Oh, truly a badass yes. A badass to end all badasses. But not quite an ELE, if you know what I mean.

Ah, a woman with more balls than the man standing infront of her.

Excellent.

If Errant Story were to be made into a movie, Imperatrix Anita would be voiced by Judi Dench.

Yep, because as far as I can tell she is about the biggest moron in the whole errantverse. She will just keep escalating the situation until a world war breaks out. Lets just look at her friends and foes.
  • Church: ostensible ally but would probably like to see the order disappear
  • Elves: Dire enemy
  • Wraiths: Dire Enemy

I am seeing the order being smashed flat or seriously mangled by the end of this story.

Heh, as soon as I saw bloody I thought of that. I've questioned before if Sarine had a British Accent, and seeing the Time-Ninjas are just a human grunts trained by the Elves, I wonder...

Course, Elves could be latin to the Ninja's British.

Sad to say it's used in the wrong place in the sentence but hell if you lot can't tell then us British will stay quiet.

For now.

Wow, that makes her training sessions sound a bit more sexually deviant.

I wouldn't say that guy lacks balls, but yes, imperatrix has more. I have to give the guy mad props for just standing there without sweating and/or releasing his bowels. I would hate to see her fits of rage... probably couldn't... just the after effects.

I hear more of an angry Cate Blanchett. Judi's great, but too old to voice Anita. Anita probably has a sharp edge that Blanchett has pulled off before.

Also, to mention, I imagine she has no idea how possibly wrong it could go.

"...and thus, the Ensigerum declared a war of extermination on the Gehwer Wraiths...."

I'm pretty sure Anita will place the blame squarely on the Wraiths for finding some way of turning Sara so quickly and consider them more of a threat. Unless someone realizes that the Wraiths rarely use blades and they realize that some other group was involved...

"Kidnapping an Ensigerum acolyte" would seem to be a rather good justification for a war of extermination, wouldn't you think?

I blame Ellis.

Ah, but you miss the point: Sara uses blades.

The way I see it, this cluster-fuck event only came about thanks to Ian.

Scrawny bastard ruins everything..

Oh, it's much worse than all that.

Anita used this thing as a set-piece match. She barged into Jeramel's office and bullied him into helping arrange a demonstration-slaughter of some random Gewehr Wraith. The result was supposed to re-cement the Ensigerum's intimidation of the Church and warn them off trying to establish relationships with any faction other than the Ensigerum. This was to be in Anita's long-term intentions of using the Ensigerum as a vehicle of global domination by becoming the unquestionably dominant partner in the Veracian alliance, "taking care" of the Elves, and crushing all that got in her way (insert the Wraiths here, but they wouldn't have been the only ones, in the end).

She set up her play, burned her bridges, took her first step, and promptly tripped face-down in the mud. Now the Veracian Hierchy is tipped off that the Ensigerum are flexing their muscles, but that trying to do something about it isn't quite as futile as they thought. Anita very well may have to go "Screw this. Just take them outright.", and slicey-slicey her way to the top, as opposed to manipulate.
