As it turns out, our cute little $10 donation pins really REALLY annoy the local post office, because they turn our awesome donations envelopes into non-machineable mail.

SO, we're reconsidering them and trying to think of something better that won't make our mail unmailable. Your input would be appreciated!

Mini-print of the wallpaper would rock!

I'd like a mini-print or a bookmark. Some combination of both?

Then again, I was also thinking "Hey, Errant Story Buttonmen" (scroll down). So I have issues.

I voted bookmark in the poll, but trading cards sound cool too, and could spur people to donate more regularly. Collect the whole set! Don't forget to donate this month, you don't want to miss out on one of the cards!

Donation buttons? What? I've never seen/heard of those...
Knowing I'm supporting two people who are doing what they love to do was enough for me...

but still, buttons?? Where?

edit: nm, i got some in the mail. Keen!

http://www.errantstory.com/donations.php Scroll down?

I'm hearing a lot of favorable response to the idea of donations bookmarks. These also happen to be the easiest for us, as well as what we're already doing as donation gifts at conventions, so we'll probably go with those, starting in May. Sadly, they will not have tassels because those would ALSO annoy the Post Office.

Bookmarks or trading cards. Anything flat, collectable, with a 1-X of X mark on it.

Never really cared for the Buttons, but a Bookmark I would use and collect.

Any other flat mail-friendly stuff like the cards, prints, etc would also be nice.

I didn't vote in time for the poll, so just wanted to chime in...

A post-card or mini-print appeal most to me, since they're better for displaying somewhere.
Personally, I have a ton of ticket stubs and old subway passes and things that I use for bookmarks, and I end up using the least cool-looking ones, usually, for fear of losing the ones I like. I realize that I'm probably idiosyncratic in this way, though.

Are you still sending pins for donations before May, or is the post office making too big a fuss about it?

I don't know if they're still sending the pins, but I did get the Misa pin a week or two ago. (And every time I look at it, I can't help thinking, "I'm the youngest! Gotta love me!")

Personally, I don't use bookmarks. I long since (see: probably around third grade or so?) got tired of having to find them to use when riding to school on the bus, and started just memorizing my page number. I still like bookmarks, though, even when they're essentially useless for me. I know exactly where my treasured Joxar bookmark is, and even if I don't use it, it's fun to have. Bookmarks are just... neat little pieces of art to me.

Actually, it surprised me how many people were planning on using these bookmarks for their actual intended purpose... I think that's kinda cool.

or maybe Errant Story Yuri h-doujin bookmarks. :) Best of 2 worlds. Could do them as panels and do a whole series of them. A new bookmark every month.
