Thank you Ellis. You just won the fucking Internet.

And now Jon is ahead of Sarine's schedule. Wonder if she heard the gunshot?

Sure as hell he'll realize somethings up when he sees the lack of elf and ninja

Of course she heard the gunshot. ("Sarine, what do you hear with your Elf-ears?")

I'm guessing Ellis is still sore about the ballgag. But surly as he is, he's just freaking adorable in the second panel.

Gotta love Ellis.

And as for the title of this thread, it should be the full name: You Hairless Bastard Monkey Fucker! You just shouldn't even try to shorten something that priceless.

Talk about letting the cat out of the bag  . Sarine should've tied and ball gagged Ellis first. It's not a mistake that Jon would've made.

This is now getting interesting and The Bookies ain't touching this with anyone's ten-foot pole. Ellis just added an unpredictabe wild-card to the play.

Curious to see that Sarine's sleep spell could be broken by a seed and a falling leaf.

I smell axe murder. Heeeeeeeeeeere's JONNY!

Does this mean evolution is a well established theory in Tsuirakushiti?

Nice break to the tension from the previous strips. Now back to the dueling action...

The seed and falling leaf came *after* the gunshot. Not too many things will keep a gunslinger asleep during a potential gunfight.

Not too many things will keep anyone asleep after a gun firing right beside their head. Among the things that will, however, you could count good aim on the part of the shooter.

I believe the point was that he didn't open his eyes until the falling tree-part hit his chin. There's probably a relatively long delay between the sound of the gun and the falling leaf reaching the ground, which could indicate that he woke up from the impact and not from the sound.

Makes sense - Sarine probably wouldn't have cast Artificial Coma, but something more like a pay-no-attention-to-the-unusual-sounds-around-you spell. That way if Jon really needed to wake for something while lying there unattended (wolves start knawing on him or something), he could, but not even a gunshot sound would rustle him from his slumber. But a bit of bark falling on your face is not just a sound, and Jon is a light sleeper...

Heh Ellis is such a furry little bastard. But hes OUR furry little bastard. :-D Someone has to play comic relief in a group full of serious people. I had a feeling Jon woke from the gunshot, but as a trained assassin you learn to keep yourself calm so you don't wake up screaming what the hell. If someone was coming for your life you would want the guy to think you were still sleeping. So I say he was still awake just waiting to see if it was a baddie or if it was just the Ellis. The seed falling on him, just confirmed it for him. Which is why he was able to instantly go, " What the hell are you doing cat?"

If I were Sarine, I would not have cast a sleep spell on Jon in the first place. It would be the height of tactical idiocy, considering her long-term goal of finding Meji.

1) Any fight or other interaction Jon's almost certainly going to find out about, either during or sometime after.

2) Jon's pretty good at figuring out when his head has been messed with.

3) If he puts two and two together and figures out that Sarine put him out so that she could fight his sister, whether to avoid his knowledge of the fight or to avoid his interference therein, she can pretty much kiss his hairy human gunslinging ass goodbye.

4) Sarine went to the trouble of finding him. Presumably she wants to keep him around until she's done with him.

Also there's that part where her magical resources probably aren't unlimited, and any extra spells would be a waste when she doesn't know what's coming up for the rest of the day, but does know it will at least include a fight with a time monk.
