I love it when someone prefers to die on their feet rather than live on their knees.
Go Sara!
Oh and the Typo in the thread title is from the strip itself.

Actor.

Ok, so is Jon shooting at Ellis or shooting in an attempt to halt the impending lesbian make-out session?

That was Jon saying, "Enough is enough, breakfast is on and the coffee's still hot."

Blam = "Playtime is over, children. Make nice, or Papa spank."

We have conformation that Sarine is the better fighter (if anyone was in doubt after the last page), but I take it she was bluffing about a way to block time-magic?

Reminds me of Meji's subtle, lady-like way of hinting at the fact that she tends to get a bit cranky when woken up at strange and unfamiliar hours of the day by the sound of gunfire.

I dunno, it looks like she got caught by surprise again. Sloppy, Sarine! Of course, one surprise is all a time-monk needs ;)

It does answer the doubt and the previous fight was all in normal time, using an honor system. Basically, Sara blew it but then again, Sarine was egging her on as well. Overall, I'd give Sarine the win, both on points and on strategy. I think that itsa gonna work.

Sarine just gambled that someone wouldn't use everything they knew to beat her and lost. Got'a love that.

That shot would be Ellis shooting at Jon^Wbirds.

I wonder, was Sarine intentionally poking Sara into using time-magic? As a way to show; you can't beat me without cheating, and to get a closer look now that she knows what to expect.

You know, that's a very strong point. Given enough info, Sarine might be able to duplicate the ability.

Watching Sara go from 'normal' to 'time-shifted' would be exactly what she would need to see.

Hey, why not both? Satisfying and it saves on ammo.

...Did she really go time-magic on Sarine? I think Sara just flipped out and was trying to go Danny the Dog on her. If she did go time magic, I don't think Sarine would have the state of mind yo go "ERRGH" before being on the ground.

She used time magic to close the distance between them.

Now that's interesting - Sarine was supposed to have put up a magical ward between herself and Sara and somehow Sara was able to get around it. Perhaps she choose to use time-shifting to get to a point just close enough to Sarine where she could reach out and throttle her without setting off the ward.

This seems to point out a key flaw in the elven psyche: Their annoying sense of cultural superiority that prevents them from seeing new ways of innovation. I think that the humans may have learned enough by this point that continued elven superiority (and possibly their civilization) is doomed. They also seem to think a lot faster on their feet than elves do, which makes up for their lasser strength and endurance.

Elves may be stronger and longer-lived, but humans are smarter and have greater potential.

So Sarine has to fight "dirty" to win an "honorable" fight? (her terms, not mine)

There are rules to friendly fights. Almost always unspoken, but very definitely there. Break them at your own risk.

Looking at Sara's expression, I get, "'Dirty tricks', eh? Okay, we can play this way, too. Let's see how you like it." Suck it, bitch.

Their has to be some drawback to that time magic or the elves would be using it constantly.

I'm glad to see that a human trained enough can at the very least stand up to an elf, if not take one out if they play dirty enough.

Yea. Take a look at Sara's face in the second panel there, kinda obvious what she's thinking: "You hit me... you actually managed to hit me. I am so turned on right now."
