Everyone who said Sarine was laying face-down = owned?

Nice way of her to make it seem like she's the one that decided Sara was going with them. ;)

And the hair is up again... Last page was a blooper and Sara seems to be sweating now too, I hadn't noticed that before.

Well, Sara seems surprised at this too, so maybe she did decide that. Maybe she needs a new apprentice.

A cookie for everyone who thought this whole thing was Sarine establishing a pecking order.

Still no evidence on whether Sarine knows how to counteract time-magic... Since it was just some punches to the face, she wouldn't have been forced into defending herself on real, so it could still just be an act.

Does she have a butt-plug up her sleeve or not? I guess we'll have to wait until the next real fight between this party and some time-ninjas.

Loved the fact that they do look alike when confused by Sarine.

Don't really understand though what she expects from trying to convince Sara that she makes the decisions.

A nice inversion. Jon's freudian comment is funnier when you consider that Sarine's establish-order-through-minor-confrontational-violence manuever is pure John Wayne. Before then, of course, a tradition among NCOs in armies dating back to ancient Sumer. The Duke dodged millitary service back in the day, but learned about macho in college and while drinking with John Ford.

Sarine Elle, courageous, confident, always in control.

"Because I said so."

Where is the latex, leather, and whips?

Pretty much. Like Boss said. Besides, finding Meji, Ian, and the half-elves is Sarine's mission. She's just recruited Sara and, BTW, Jon. Those two are not even aware of the full mission yet. Then again, neither are we.

Sarine definitely has the mission details though and that makes her the OIC.

I'm just not sure why Sara and Jon are going to go along with it. Neither of them has any reason to go and they both have good reasons not to:

Jon is (or bloody well should be) suspicious of Sarine's intentions regarding Meji and Ian, and knows she can't really be trusted to be straight with him.

Sara may or may not want to stay with her brother, but she has no real reason to regard Sarine as anything other than a threat to be avoided or an enemy to be stabbed in the back (preferably whilst sleeping).

I don't get why Sarine thinks they both are going to start taking orders from her. Neither of them need anything from her and it isn't as if she's going to kill them if they try to leave. There's no benefit for either of them in becoming her bitches.

Will she be straight with Sara as well?

That would require one of them to have a penis.

So yes.

Le Sigh.

The only exposition that's required in situations like these, to provide character motivations and further the plot is...

[Sara has joined the Party.]

Did anyone ese find themselves wondering what a "beo" was, and what kind of variance it could have? Thankfully Ellis was there to correct the way I parsed that not-word.

As to why Jon and Sara would start taking orders, they don't really have an alternative, so long as Sarine orders them to do what they were already planning to do.

"Sara is coming with us" was what Sara was already doing, and Jon decided that when he picked her up at the church. She didn't try anything to escape, and probably doesn't believe she has anywhere else to go. Her brother is the only person who is willing to risk himself for her, as far as she can tell.

Jon is going to go along with Sarine anyway because he does care about Meji, wants to be rid of Ellis, and can't really go back, as he didn't manage to kill the church guy and now is carrying a time monk around.

By the way, I really want to see the team dynamic when they find Meji and Ian.

I thought it was a spelling mistake until I realised it was supposed to be be-ovaried.
