You're wrong.

We still haven't seen the super secret underground dwarven stronghold.

And no one's uncovered the mystery of the Sixth House or taken off for the Frontier to blow up the tank-castle. Not to mention the Necrons on that continent to the east haven't been woken up yet.

Ya' Know, she might be saying that she "burned" her old robes to cover the fact that the wave of magical energy that made Ian go bye bye also shredded and or scorched them beyond all usefulness.

In which case I would really like to see filler/fanart of this scene...

sorry, mind stuck firmly in gutter...

Unlikely. Nobody saw the body. All we know is that he "disappeared". Depending on how long Meji was blinded, Ian could have teleported, flown off, or simply walked away, and she wouldn't necessarily know the difference.

hi hi

I'm betting Ian went through some sort of metaphysical transformation and will be popping back later. Either that or he really did explode into pure energy and now Meji has access to phenominal cosmic powers due to her proximity.

Meji is back home, Jon is on the way to recovering his relationship with his family, and Ian killed himself in an explosion.

Something tells me the next few events could actually wrap Errant Story up, albeit earlier than anyone would hope.

*ahem* would be nice for some people to tell me how wrong I am.

Not bloody likely. This smells more like one of Poe's set ups. There is a large surprise looming.

If memory serves, she only ever appeared in a picture frame in a old non-story peice of artwork, and the closest she came to been mentioned in the actual story was that statment from her grandfather.

Basicly the idea was while Bani was the friend closest to her actual age, Etsuko was the friend closest to her apparent age.

And while Meji has actually known her longer than Bani, they're not as close as they used to be due to the fact that they didn't get to see much of each other for a few years since Etsuko only recently became old enough to go to Meji's school.

There must be one somewhere, 'cos I'd like to see mankind explained and Kawaii said humans look like a mix of dwarves and elves.

Yes and we don't know for certain that Dwarves are actually extinct.

This just went into the Wiki.

Also, Dwarven ruins are often attributed to an "ancient race of humans" by those who've never heard of any such thing as a dwarf. There's been reference to this at least twice that I can think of. One is Meji's bit after they left Emerylon, about crazy theories involving aliens having created everyone, Elven-Veracian conspiracies, and the Northern Confederacy building superweapons using technology left behind by an ancient race of humans. The other, just thereafter, is Ian's first mention of the Dwarves, as the actual builders of those very old structures some people use as proof of an ancient race of humans predating the Elves. Also, as I recall, humans were first discovered by the Elves while searching for the long-since-heard-from Dwarves, i.e. Humans come from the northern territories, the former Dwarf lands.

But as for Humans being some sort of elf-dwarf hybrid, I imagine that would be rather difficult seeing as how the dwarves can't reproduce. So unless the Rinkai so wanted to fuck some dwarf lasses that they magically altered some of them to be fully functional and anatomically correct, I don't think it's really possible.

This information could be somewhat out dated as it was posted in 2005 but it could serve as a clue on how many pages are left.

It was said a few months ago about being somewhere around 1/3~1/2 done.

Oh I don't know, wouldn't a full page "The End" on Friday be a big surprise? Disappointing, surely, but I don't think anyone really expects it to happen. Hence the surprise value.

We're in Volume Five right now, since Volume Four ended with Ian's necromancy gone awry.

Errant Story is planned to run to nine volumes total, at least according to the pretty synopsis sitting on my desk. Your average manga volume in the US is 192 pages or so, with a number of those pages being various sorts of filler. Poe is completing, story-wise, approximately one volume every thirteen to fourteen months.

Hope that helps give an estimate for y'all.

Well, here's to four more years, if math serves me well...

I'm going all the way, baby!

EDIT: No, make that five and a half to six years minimum.
