Too bad Viradior armor has face masks. Wait, how would we recognize Misa anyway if it didn't?

EDIT: Just remembered to check, Misa's mask has three vertical lines under her eyes, but these seem slightly different.

Because she is the one the "camera" has focussed on!

The next few steps had better be filled with WTF, LoL and BBQ.

WTF @ Bani in Tsuiraku
LoL @ totally improbrable situation and request of aid
BBQ @ Bani's house, followed by hot elf sexxors.

As I predicted MONTHS ago: IT R ELFS

Personally, I'd like to see Rarune's face, if only to find out how much Meji takes after him.

Now that we have more examples, Viradior armor has facemasks but the face mask decoration seems to be individual. Almost assuredly, that one isn't Misa and the other one isn't either. Equally assuredly, Sarine knows both of them anyway.

EDIT: BTW, I have zero clues as to where Poe is going with this shot. It's like those long scene shots from a Di laurentis spaghetti western, you only "get it" on the very last frame and we haven't seen the last frame yet.

If decorations are individual and can be used to identify Viradior members, then why did Sarine not recognize the face mask of one of her best friends when Misa tried to get the drop on her back in elf-land?

Assuming one of them is Misa, are we or Sarine even supposed to recognize her? Seems to me to be a possible setup for shock and agony on Sarine's part after someone in the group unknowingly kills Misa...

we can't expect Sarine to have the same photographic(cartoonic) memory that we have, especially since she doesn't visit home that often. There is also the offchance that the facemasks also displays rank, and are therefore changed when promoted.

I am praying for rape-kun to get into an infight with Sara, that would work wonders for me.

Your use of the word INfight wrt a female like Sara, is deeply fascinating and disturbing.

For one, Misa had snuck up behind her, using invisability. Two, after throwing an attacker, and the adreneline is making mush of your brains, you don't stop to notice minor details like the facemask pattern.

It seems like the last panel is the "get it" panel, Slamlander. The elf is sort of leaning to side, as if he's looking at something.

I'll venture to guess it's Rarune, looking at Miyo.

She didn't use invisibility though I agree Sarine wasn't checking id. However the fact Misa retracted the mask to prove her identity indicates its either a rank marking (need to see 2 alike so far they've all been different) or something new for her.

Ambassador?

I'd agree with Slamlander, this strip is only building up to the next one. Nothing too important is shown yet.

Man, if they don't stay hidden...

Elves vs our heros in a city full of mages. I see a LOT of collateral damage coming on.

That's if they get caught...

This little parade reminds me of the Judges from Final Fantasy XII, particularly Gabranth.

Nope. There's someone else in similar regalia immediately to this character's right and largely off-stage. Then, behind the two of them, there's someone wearing more ornate stuff. The honor guard does not get more gussied up than whoever they're nominally guarding, at least not unless there's an attempt to disguise the honoree. The elves have no reason to believe Rarune is in any danger on this visit; the presence of the honor guard isn't to protect him, but rather to take ... offensive ... action. So he's not likely to be incognito.

As for whether this could be Misa: the best view we've seen of her face mask is here, and I would tend to agree that the vertical slashes there don't match the ones on the mask in this strip. Could be artistic license, though.

P.S. A limited-edition print of a character in the "sequel"? Interesting...

I shouldn't have tried using invisibility to get in close

In any case, the Face mask worn by Misa was different than the one on the character in the last panel of today's strip. her mask has three claw mark like slashes down each side of the face, a total of six marks. this character has seven marks that are not like slash marks so much as cutouts for better air flow. Also in the last frame, the other virador has only one slash/mark on the left side of his/her/it's face.

Check out super smiley face girl in panel two! She looks really excited, maybe Rarune had more than one little affair last time?

Assuming the guy in the back is Rarune he must be really tall. The guards don't even come up to his shoulders, 7ft tall 300lb ambasador?

Or maybe that's just due to the "camera angle"...

I might agree, but we have nothing but word of mouth to believe Rarune was the "official" ambassador. Miyo may have just spread 'em for his guards. In particular, what I see is that elf leaning to look at Miyo, probably thinking, "Hey, there's that chick I knocked up...could that kid be the errant I'm looking for?"
