Does look like violence in the offing . . .

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me

Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me

I dunno. Ian could probably take the sky from you... or at least blacken it enough to end all natural photosynthesis.

Ah, but he's referring to the blackest sky of all.

HAH. Makes you wonder why all male demi-gods aren't demi-gods of breasts. I'd choose that at least as part of my domain.

Ian hovering over a temple made me realize that I would like to see him go against what is left of Luminosita.

Man I love how ominous this page is.

The poem proceeds apace. It's almost finished.

Not all chapter titles are verses from Ozymandias and I don't think those that are, are in strict order.

Well, of course not all chapter titles are from it! If they were, it wouldn't be worthy of note that this one is. I'm fairly certain they are all in the order that the phrases appear in the poem, however. Only a short phrase remains:

"...boundless and bare/ The lone and level sands stretch far away."

Don't forget there is still an entire second poem to go. And I must say, it is quite an epic poem...

Before this universe there was another one...
a happy universe filled with bunnies. But that
one got destroyed in a great cataclysm brought
about by a major plot point. Pay attention,
there will be a test later.

-Some Random Idiot In A Chat Room

Possible chapter titles from this could be (not all text is used, after all):

A happy universe filled with bunnies (I think I've seen hentai games based on this premise)
A great cataclysm (when Ian finally does Ian stuff)
A major plot point (think of the suspense)
There will be a test (the 'later' is optional)

At least 4 more chapters right there...

If Ian replaces the Veracian god, I predict he will then start knocking up nuns and possibly giving a few tentacles.

Well, it would be interesting if the ensigerum step in. If that happens me thinks Sara got out just in time.

Good point. Time magic may be the only thing left that might be able to take Ian down. And that's assuming he's not sufficiently enlightened to see what they're doing (and either stop it or duplicate it) before they do it.

Given the amount of power currrently contained in Ian, I think a handful of chronomonkeys would be as nats unto the whirlwind.

I picture a scene in which the elite of the timeninjas engage in a coordinated all-out attack, only to be tossed aside casually at the last minute.

The thing is, we don't know how much Ian's body and perceptions have been altered (if at all). It could be that his senses and reflexes are faster than an Insegerium monk while he's using time magic. Or maybe his skin is so tough than durus flamma will shatter against it. Or maybe one time ninja can just run up behind him and lop his head off.

For the sake of the narrative, I'd expect Ian to at least make a good fight of it, maybe even be able to simply ignore them. But the fact is that we don't have any evidence one way or another. We know he can take out an Elf Ranger, but we haven't seen him up against a time monk.

I predict that in the end, while the mightiest mages and priests and elves and ninjas from the world over are throwing everything they have at Ian and getting it handed right back to them along with a side of their own asses, Ian will take a little hunk of lead in the head, as tossed his way by the unassuming little human in the corner.

Remember the lesson that StarGate taught us: the most advanced civilizations in the universe (e.g. the Asgard) maybe someday come to us for aid because their unbeatable enemies (e.g. the Replicators) are, apparently, vulnerable only to bullets - as in, the little bits of metal you shoot out of a gun, by means of an explosion of some black powdery stuff - and of course that kind of tech is FAR too primitive to be even considered, much less developed, by these high enlightened peoples.

There was a section of one of the Uplift books with a similar premise. The Library didn't detail such primitive technology as bows and arrows, which proved remarkably effective at killing aliens with defenses only against advanced technology.
