Poor guards - NOT!

And as for Ian; That's using yer noggin' boy. Straight through the wall.

They enter stage left, get killed, and no one even so much as asked how they felt about it.

Altho it's probably pretty easy to imagine their answers anyways.

But seriously, this should've been titled as some Akira reference. The parallel is just begging to be made.

By this point, Ian could probably knock them out, rather than killing them, if he wanted to. If he's in control.

Anyway, it looks like he knows what he wants and where to find it. Or if he doesn't, whoever's running the show sure seems to.

Yes, Ian doesn't appear to be deliberately incinerating the guards, which he could certainly do with a single thought. He is going into the main temple and gaining access to Luminosita would be the logical goal there.

Jeramel? If Ian in fact is still in the drivers seat, the only Ian-type goal I can see getting out of the Temple of Luminosita is a rough estimate where the hell to find Praenubilus Astu. The Patriarch of the Veracian Church would be the guy to squeeze for that.

The burning issue is: If Anilis is in control, why is she so pissed off?

I'm still staring at Ian's ears. Where's that going, really? Default user state? Remake in the image of the gods?

After all, A LONG TIME AGO, Nookie almost managed to tell Sarine that elves were made to replace the gods. Perhaps she was saying the gods were trying to replace their physical forms. Perhaps elven bodies weren't strong enough to handle it and hence you get floating masses of energy called gods.

Maybe the errants, those wacky, daffy halfies, are an unexpected treat for the gods -- a vessel capable of containing their spirits, and something entirely unexpected, since there is no record of how humans came to exist and certianly (wink wink) no intention they would ever mate with elves.

Okay, not destruction, but mere breaking and entering. Ian seems to be in control, simply blowing them backwards and probably knocking them out, rather than making them go 'splodey.

I wonder what manner of being is going to ask him the three questions?

this probably has more to do with the fact that the city is built on top of the ruins of an elven capital. he doesn't need info on where the last city of elves is, the general placement is common knowledge. and seriously, does he really need any extra wattage as he has it the level of most biblical figures?

Well, it doesn't seem like it was enough power to keep Anilis awake for some reason.

We, as yet, don't really know why he's doing this. He may or may not need the extra wattage. However, Anilis could also be a jealous bitch and Luminosita is definitely treading on her territory.

We also don't know why the Gods went to war.

(I gonna try to be more read-able)

In those country who have to devellop themself; "abbandon" by the elves to return to a primitive condition; magic knowledge, skill and firepower weren't something really known and probably rare.

With those kind of limitation, how come that the Lumina cult succed to creat a such powerfull thing made of concentred magic power??

Could they had some help to start with? Like a huge source of magical power?

We know that humans are unaffected by barriers protecting the elfes gods hide-out/secret chamber.

Could it be that they had find something? Something hided in an abbandon ruin?

Some overpowerfull magic sources, that they didn't undertand, but that they find a way to control its power on a very raw form, primitive and obedient?
(May be because the magical source itself is still asleep ?)

Basically Neko is suggesting that another god is there and being magic tapped.

So, in this case it's a rescue mission? Yes, it could be.

Current hypothesese:
1) Anilis is a jealous bitch, opening a can or whup-ass on a userper.
2) Anilis is rescuing Senilis, who is being mage sucked by the Veracian Church.
3) Psychotic

Of those, 2 is starting to make sense. I seem to recall Anita saying something regarding the early church and their early source of magic, while she was chiding them, but I'm having trouble finding the link.

She mentioned how they were a bunch of cultists hanging out in a swamp, once.

My favorite ES conceit has always been that we'll find out that contrary to everything we've been told by an all-star collection of smart-asses, the Veracian Church would one day be revealed to know exactly what the hell they've been talking about. Luminosita would end up being some Elven deity a bunch of recently-evicted-from-elven-civilization humans found half-dead in a swamp somewhere and 'nursed back to health' by shoving magic into it over the course of milenia. Dead god or sleeping god, just so long as we'd get to see the look on everyones' faces.

There's also another potential reason, IIRC.

Ian was originally there to find anything on info to find help for his sister IIRC; it could be that he's just wanting unlimited access to the library.
