Actually I don't think the Veracians did this, they seemed to be focusing on trying to protect themselves rather than attacking him "Barrier, Now." So I find myself wondering who did send the energy beam and why? Well that and what Ian wanted to know.

I know this idea must have been posted before but how do we know that Luminosita is not a shackled and abused elder god? I know everyone calls it a Pokégod but if it really was just a construct wouldn't it be relatively easy to repair and recharge? It has been quite a few years since it self-destructed on the elven barrier right? Just dump an assload of magical energy into it over the course of several generations.

I'm guessing it was Luminosita setup effectively as a booby trap. A godly claymore mine if you will. The guards acting as bait knew there would be a detonation of power and took an appropriate defensive posture.

Read Wiki closely
Luminosita was not destroyed by the collapse of the Elven Barrier/Shield. Luminosita was only damaged severely. It's the sudden collapse of that shield that blew out Tsuiraku's cloaking field.

Yes, the idea has been surfaced, even in this thread. Some of us are less than keen on it but it does give Ian/Anilis an, otherwise absent, motive for doing what he's doing.

'Slammed'? That appears to be some sort of giant energy beam...

You're right ... I had nothing to do with it

It's the arm of Luminosita, crashing up from the floor.

Angel of Death had a very interesting idea in the other thread.. "Ian was originally there to find anything on info to find help for his sister IIRC; it could be that he's just wanting unlimited access to the library."

Ian: I want to know... [where i can get a library card]"

That's a bit moot now that she's dead. He's already tried a resurrection and found that she was empty, even if the body was revived.

The Soul is Gone
From The Thrill Is Gone by BB King
The Soul is gone
The Soul is gone away
The Soul is gone baby
The Soul is gone away
You know you left me wrong baby
And I am sorry to say

The Soul is gone
It's gone away from you
The Soul is gone baby
The Soul is gone away from you
Although I'll still live on
But so lonely I'll be

The Soul is gone
It's gone away for good
Oh, the Soul is gone baby
Baby its gone away for good
Someday I know I'll be over it all baby
Just like I know a man should

they spent centuries depositing energy in their pokegod, that much effort doesn't get repeated overnight so lumionosita can't be feeling his oats.

and yeah thats him you can see the outline of a knuckle

Bright day
Reaction time? Ian's entrance was very abrupt.

But what kicks enough ass to compete with time ninjas?

I think I know a possible answer: Space pirates.

More like making a joke only AVM's readers would understand.

I could have mentioned the Amish technomages, but decided that'd be overkill.

Would that be paradox or oxymoron?

The amish as a whole actually don't really shy away from technology- some do of course, but most carefully weigh the convenience of the process/item with the concerns of the community. Hell, when the children come to adult-hood and leave their homes to explore the world and decide whether or not to remain amish, they sure as hell use technology.

It's a lot like the internet. Sure, we say a lot more and get a lot more information than we ever did before, but where's the genuine interaction? How does this thing bring us closer together and unite us?

At least, that's what I've gathered when reading about them.

Raziel. Him and his glowy reaver are more than enough to compete with time ninjas.

Well, that's so obvious that it hardly bears mentioning. I mean, ghost vampire with a grafted magic light saber? No contest.
