Hell yeah, you could train for fucking awesome martial arts. None of this 50 years training to get really good, but 500 years deeloping skills, spending decades mastering one strike.

Sarine's bound to have been able to pick up a few things and techniques in 2000 years that would be able to get her around. Oh, and to kill people. Let's not forget the killing part. Even if she learned a few things here and there, in 2000 years people would probably just forget that technique, and POW! she would be able to catch them off guard. Cause hey, people forget. Not to mention that descendents would probably be too bored listening to how Grandpa slayed all those bad guys 50 years ago.

Anyone read Preacher though? 'cos Cassidy was a vampire, but used his abilities (immortality, speed & strength etc) as a crutch. He couldn't actually fight for shit, technically. He just won 'cos he was physically superior. Kinda like Manji in Balde of the Immortal; a lot of his fights are finished by him once his opponent thinks he's dead. So perhaps the reason Sarine is still alive is just because she can't be killed, it doesn't mean she's any good at staying alive.

Elven immortality generally just means they dont die of natural causes, not that they cant be killed. So I doubt sarine would ever fight like cassidy.

Of course you won't. I didn't say any individual person would only live 900 years - I said the average lifespan would be about 900 years. If you think you know your statistics, you'd know that averages only apply to groups of people; they're irrelevant when talking about any given individual. In the posed scenario, you, as an individual, could live for ten thousand years - but you'd have to beat billion-to-one odds to get there. Or something like that, anyway - forgive me if I don't know offhand how many standard deviations that works out to, Mister Statistical.

(And to be perfectly honest, yes, I was unclear - I probably should have said "... after that time, you'll have exceeded the point where the probability of Joe Statistical Average having been killed in a natural disaster or freak accident has reached 100%". There, happy?)

Elves have no lifespan as they are immortal with the exception of dying in combat, falling off cliffs...diseases...plot holes...but no dying of old age or any aging in general.

AND...if you read the first two episodes you'd see that Poe is leaning in the direction of immortality.
