Yep, I remember wondering how could she be so sure it'll be a daughter. But she was, and if Sarine thinks it was a girl, so will I. A daughter, then.

I dunno... one thought I had was that maybe all male half-elves go bonkers eventually (human half can't take the weight of years or some such) and so the expectant parents have to believe that their child will be a girl just because the alternative is too horrible.

Just a thought....

I have said this before, but I think it bears repeating here... I think that Meji is Sarine's daughter. This however is only my opinion, but it is shared by a few others I think...

I think it's a daughter, but then again I read too much fantasy etc and I happen to be under the impression elven mothers simply "know" what gender their child will be as soon as they find out that they're pregnant.
Just my opinion, though. (I think it's from one of the anime series I watch..)

I think it's daughter, because Poe wrote that she was having a daughter. No real point in writing the wrong thing- changing the gender of a baby before it's born isn't really a plot twist.

Well if you read the strips, it kinda hits you like a big sack of duh!. Besides it wouldn't be Poe's style to have a male semi-main character, there is almost no pr0n fodder capabilities.
