all I know is that after reading the entirity of Exploitation Now maybe 20 times (my favorite comic of all time) is that Poe know's how to make a screwed up family. I mean, come on, you've seen Bush's family. If you haven't I suggest you do it now. EN is an awsome comic.

My hypothesis:

it's the same sarine. if it wasn't there would have been absolutely no point to the flashback, apart from the little history that was trown out about the purge, and that half elves can turn out 'wrong'

and if that's what the scene was for, why make the character look exactly like sarine? only sets to confuse the issue.

She's either just an all-round Bounty Hunter, or an Errant Hunter. wither way, she'd go after Errants because, if they're dangerous enough to warrant a genocide-level 'purge', then they'll warrant some big bounties.

Errants: if they ahve freaky super powers, my guess is that the powers and deformities will range greatly. it opens up the chances for different stories and such if the errant's powers are varied. perhaps not all errants are monsters, perhaps sometimes the powers are beneficial or just 'support' abilities, and it's only the crazy Errants that give all errants a bad name.

most errants could be trouble, but there can still be the odd 'good' one. never say never, after all. perhaps, then, Sarine hunts down the dangerous errants because her daughter, who may have been a good errant, or just a plain ol' half elf that was maligned for the crimes of the bad Errants.

personally, i think it would be cooler if her daughter was borderline, and could have gone either way, but was killed before she got a chance to overcome her uniqe 'disability'...make the protagonist's back story less clean cut. "she's a monster, but she's STILL my daughter!"

at this pint, it's all conjecture, of course, and i will be interested in how poe develops it, whichever direction he's taken.

I always thought here daughter was called Sara, if only because that was the name of the files in the Gallery section:

I thought they might have been Sarine at first, the filename having been shrunk or something, but then noticed that Sarine isn't shortened to Sara in any way and that she only has a passing resembalance to Sarine(if that), I might be wrong about this of course.

This might be restating what people know. I'll take my chances posting it anyway.

I noticed a thread while doing a search earlier. Someone had found this page:

It contains quite a bit of information about Sara Amraphel, and her brother Jon is mentioned. Jon Amraphel is in the characters page. There are pictures of someone named Sara, armed with the same type of staff as mentioned on the page listed earlier, in the ES gallery. This might lead one to the conclusion that the Sara in the gallery is Sara Amraphel.

If it is the same people, then the ES world may be the same or have things in common with the world described on that page. It's not necessarily so, Poe might just have decided to use the characters he has created there, in a new world of his own making. If it does, however, then the description of Sara might give clues to the ES world.

Silly me just noticed that one of the pictures in the gallery is the same as the one of Sara Amraphel on that page.

No, because the 'sorry' is not directed towards D, but towards some other person (perhaps D's mother, Sarine's daughter).

Well I feel quite stupid now, I'd forgotten about the FPL, your probably right then, Sara couldn't be the original daughter if shes jons sister (he's human isn't he, that was the assumption most of us made) because her father would be long dead. I think.
