Location: Virginia. And somehow, not a hick. Odd.
So, Meji's in some sort of magic-school (a schoolgirl. Oh, Poe...), and flunking out of it. Hmm. Rather a change of pace from the previous stuff, but I honestly haven't a clue where things will go from here. Looks interesting, though, and not just because her attitude mirrors mine regarding schooling.

Interesting how most names in this chapter so far are Japanese-style (Meji Hinadori, Professor Yukiri, Sashi Mu Academy). Ellis is the only exception.

Oh, and while Meji talks about her mom and granddad in the first panel, I'm still not convinced she isn't Sarine's daughter. She could well be adopted, and the semi-elven ears are still there.

Love the familiar. He's funny.

Heh, if it weren't for the fact that he's telling Meji to get off her ass and actually do some work, I would be tempted to post an inverse of the old infamous "Where's Ralph?" messages.

Maybe demon-winged cat familiars are what the karmic accounting office has in store for all of us ecchi perverts once the Baka Fairy finishes us off....

...maybe it's just me, or does that whole scene remind me of a Cardcaptor Sakura scene? I mean it's like, I read the thing and I get this funny feeling of Deja Vu...but then again, maybe I'm just being a complete idiot. ^_^

Anyway, the whole Sarine's daughter idea is pretty cool. Yeah, it's possible.

All I know is that I can sympathize about the busy work. It often has prevented me from doing my comic in a timely maner.

now that i think of it, it does kinda remind me of cardcaptor. though ES is a far sight better than CCS in some ways

I'm hoping for a few gag-strips to lighten the mood - this seems like a good setup.

This reminds me of a line from 'Privateer':

"I did, once. But then the fever broke and I got better."

You are funny, intelligent, and have obviously done your homework. Your poise does not fit with your post total. Thus I perform the most degrading act any regular hentai loving EN boarder can do to a n00b.

Reaches into pocket and pulls out a Hampster.

Say hello to Huey. He has given many n00bs nightmares. He likes violence, violating people, and walks in the rain. And he has something for you.

Lifyre extends his hand and Huey pulls out a big rubber stamp and slaps a DNI on Yevaud333's forehead.

Welcome to the fold  and keep up the good shit  Oh and you might want to put the DNI in your .sig

Again welcome!

[EDIT] just curious but is Stattins Island the same as Staten Island?

Oo! Sashi Mu! Wild, crazy coincidence, a somehow natural way to mangle up a name like Mushashi for personal use, or very obscure reference?

Good. Seeing how I've managed to decypher what seems to be the most obscure one, I'm afraid I'm going to have to go all fanboyish on you and give the other ones a shot, too.

Yukiri; is a character from the Wheel of Time books. Or, reference to Sugisaki Yukiri, creator of DNAngel.

Ellis; is harder, since it's a quite common name. Ellis from Toshinden, possibly, 'cause I've seen a shot of Ellis with a fistfull of knives that 'd sorta make her hands look like clawed paws - from a distance, with your eyes narrowed, in a pea-souper fog, after having consumed entirely too much cheap alcohol.

Meji Hinadori; composite. "Hinadori" is Japanese for "chick", in the sense of a young bird; possibly a reference to the anime(?) "Hinadori no Saezuri". "Meji"; many possibilities, took some time to figure out it's most likely "mage" transcribed in katakana. This makes Meji the "Meji no Hinadori", or Mage-Chick.

(EDIT: Meji, not Meiji. D'OH! Also, +DNAngel)

See, that's what I get for being all esoteric and shit. I thought it had something to do with "Mu", in the Zen sense. :P

I like the word mu very much. It is a usefull and needed word that I hope finds its way into the english common vernacular.

Meji can't be Sarine's daughter. though my morals may be twisted, I couldn't imagine mother-daughter action especially after drawing that squishy doodle thingy.

awww, c'mon nair! it could be one of tose 'wacky' (can't believe i actually typed that word then didn't delete it...) scenarios where meji is hot for her mom, but doesn't know she's her mom.

Sarine doesn't like this because A, she likes men, B, she still mouns her long-dead hubby, and finally C, incest is SO last millennium.

yeah, that makes perfect se4nse in MY head at least.

Sorry I've taken so long to respond. (Not to be a copycat but I've had finals of my own... bla bla bla, usual sob story.)

Anyway, thanks much for the DNI. Wow I feel all warm and welcome.

And Stattins Island is actually a reference to one of the homes of the character I stole my name from. (Search through Ursula K. Le Guin's works if you want to learn more.)

And now it's my turn to be curious: is your little furry friend the same Hampster Huey who starred in Hampster Huey and the Gooey Kablooie? Because if he is, I feel even more honored!

EDIT: Deleted excessive quoting.

You obviously haven't heard the 'localized' themesong of Monster Rancher enough times to realize what being called 'Mu' means to most Americans.

We are the knights that say Mu! Mu Mu Mu!
