..and I can't believe it's taken me four days to notice.

Where's Poes funky grayscale shading gone? The new comics look a bit....white. Still look cool, but they're a little harder to decipher. : Not sure what the point of this post is exactly, I guess I was wondering if anyone else out there is as ignorant as me. :D

wow, i didn't see it either, good spot. i personally picked up on the more blatent use of 'blade of the immortal' style and more stylized mange art.

But there is grey in there somwhere isn't there?

I noticed it right off the bat, although I guess that kind of thing is pretty obvious when you're coloring the comic.

Anyway, I kind of like the black and white... it adds to the whole EN vibe this chapter seems to have, which in turn makes Meji even creepier.

Also, it's easier to color.

am i the only one who doesn't think meji is (or will be) a crazed psychopath? although being a sorceress, your brain would be pointed to other things than a grip on reality, i think she's cool and kinda sweet, in grey haired, belt wearing, walking time-bomb kind of way.

You're not the only one--I think she's probably going to achieve partial success at channeling/becoming/mimicing a demigod(ess); but Prof. Yukiri isn't going to buy it as an 'A' project. Then, she'll go the challenge route which will no doubt be highly destructive, earning her title but not her degree.

Of course, Poe will probably upset my happy little theory tomorrow. Oh well!

I think that she won't get an A... because she'll end up killing everyone in the school, and nobody left will be able to grade her =)

I think she's got a far too much power with far too little experience combination.
I think she'll end up fumbling through the begining of her quest before she meets competent help.

I think that she'll accomplish her goals.
And then promptly get conquered, seriously injuried, full body cast and somehow pull off enough of a grade to get her degree but still end up as the lowest scoring person in her class.

I suspect that the shading is, in this case, a clue. You have the first section, shaded in grayscale. Next, a color divider. Next, the current arc, done in, as someone else mentioned, a style rather similar to EN. Thus, we can conclude that the first few pages were likely a future (past?) setting, and that the style will probably not return until we revisit that part of the story.

That seems insightful, but its way to early in the story to make a guess like that, though it will be interesting to find out if you are correct. (at her graduation, if that ever happens, im goping for anothe piece of grafitti...)

Yeah, I guess it's theoretically possible that the different threads of the story will have their own "scheme". It's done in some movies and TV, so why not?

or maybe Poe doesn't like to shade stuff that much.

Is that medieval torture device Meji is wearing supposed to be a corset? If not , what the heck is it?

I dunno. To be honest, it looks like a variation on what Hennet the Sorcerer from the 3rd Edition Player's Handbook wears.

Maybe Poe just likes drawing buckles? The Death/Time chick also had buckle-heavy clothers.

Hehe, hey, you're right! Was wondering why her outfit looked familiar.

More evidence of Poe as D&Der? Or maybe just buckle fetishest. (Ralph DID order a Violate-Me Lulu doll at some point, as I believe someone already pointed out. Hmmm.... )

For some reason this post is making me think of Squirrel Nutkin's RPG Home Page, http://members.tripod.com/squirrel_nutkin/tsr.htm - search the page for 'kercpa' or 'buckles' to see what I mean.

EDIT: Fixed link.
