The problem with Poe...

...is that not enough human females visit his forums. Sure, we have the 9-foot truckers in seifuku drag, and the furry wannabes who transplant paintbrush bristles onto their cheeks, but real estrogen-based lifeforms tapping merrily away on their pink keyboards have so far eluded us.

Which is why I propose that Poe develops a sudden, drastic yaoi-bishounen style into his storylines and artwork. Studies have shown that wavy haired, five-foot tall, anti-social, cherubic faced, angsty males in their early years evoke tsunamis of maternal affection from this mysterious race of humans called 'women'.

With luck and patience, we too shall have our very own crop of female humans (and other hybrids). And with a good eugenics program and some leather whips, we shall produce the most full-blooded Aryan warriors within the next couple of generations. Seig heil!

Nah, the problem is that Poe seems to have gotten very, very depressed. Starting about a year ago, he has just faded away. Still keeps the comics coming though. So that is good.

Well one of the only forums I know where a lot of the better half of the species hang out(better in the sense that they are cleaner) is the Avalon Forums and the VenusEnvy mailing list, a lot of very nice people are on both.
So Poe's options are clear, either make the rest of ES a love story centering around Canadian highschoolers which never updates or add a cute Transexual.
Or just descend into Yoai.

You're forgetting an important part: lose your regular job, then expect to live on donations from your fanbase, while still being incapable of getting out a comic on schedule.
