Assuming you take about as much damage from being thrown into things as you do from falling on them, it'd be more around 1d6. I don't believe there are any specific rules for that, though- usually, you don't get thrown at things. Things get thrown at you.

I reckon you should save all your posts Eronarn. Then, in years to come, you can look back at them and you will see them in a new light. I hope.

Yes... the light cast off by the BURNING PYRES OF THE DEAD! They will climb to the skies darkened with ash, carried there by the few damned souls left on this world... and I will be there, laughing, reading my message board posts in said new light.

Hmm, Eronarn. You have 333 posts. And you're talking about great pyres of dead etc etc... Is that demi-satanic or something?

You mean from the *movie*. NOT the book. That was not in said book, it was added in by Peter Jackson (Who is a brilliant man, but sadly, has to appease others in his vision of the film)

Soon...an RPG supplement is being published for Nodwick and it will have the Henchman attack tables in it...and Nodwick's sort of like a halfling.

Plus Evil Stevie (Steve jackson) is doing the Munchkin d20 Players Guide which will have something in it aobut using other people as weapons.

http://www.thudgame.com

In order to take a troll in this game you have to line up the dwarves and toss the one at the front at the troll and hit it the stomach. Its good fun.

that he is, and lord of the rings is so unlike any of his other movies. sometimes i wonder if he was just talking one day to his friends or co-workers and said "you know, i bet i could make a really good serious movie. one that everyone would love." people didnt believe him so to prove it he took up this project, and is now slamming it in their faces.

But thats probably not at all how it happened. so if someone did come to him and ask him to do this movie, then i wonder why they chose him to do it, all his other movies are about as far away from lord of the rings as you can get.

At least I don't remind you of Goku. Damn, I love Elf Only Inn, it's one of like 15 webcomics I read.

I just discovered Elfs Only Inn the other day. Blew my mind. I used to hang out in the same roleplaying haunts as Josh Sortelli when I was a wee powergamer in middle school. Sort of hits close to home. Though I'm certain Sortelli doesn't remember me or anything, I can't help but think a couple of the Goku powergamer jokes were directed at me.

Sortelli is raping my childhood. It hurts and stings.

I kind of like it.

I actually wrote a spell that includes a rough outline for damage dealt when being thrown into something under certain circumstances, but it would probably be a table of speed vs mass or weight to determine how much damage you were actually dealt.

Just found the spell on my hard-drive.. here it is:

New Spell
Name: Lesser Reality Ripple
Type: Evocation
Researcher: Kagé
Range: Short (25ft + 5ft/Two Levels)
Components: V, S
Level: Six
Casting Time: Full Round
Duration: One Round/Two Levels
Saving Throw: See Description
Spell Resistance: Half
Spell Description:
When the spell is complete, the caster chooses a location or target within line of effect. A small hole is torn in reality at the center of the area, and gravity is warped around it temporarily. The radius of this effect is up to ten feet plus five feet per three caster levels. All creatures and players except the caster within the area of effect must succeed at a Will save or suffer a -6 penalty to their affective dexterity score for two rounds per caster level, a Fortitude save or be nauseated, and a Reflex save or be thrown 2d10 feet per caster level in a random direction determined by a d6. See the table below for direction instructions. If a creature strikes or is struck by a flying object, creature, or player), it receives 2d6 plus the combined weight divided by ten of all objects, creatures, and players involved in the collision.

Number Direction
1 North
2 South
3 East
4 West
5 Up
6 Down

If something is thrown in a direction that is impeded by a wall or other such object, treat it as if it has struck any other object except that only the striking creature, player, or object’s weight is factored into the equation. Damage dealt to walls and other such structures is multiplied by one and one third if that structure is within the range of the spell.
