Uh, Edible Corpse, no offense, but I think Meiji's familiar gave a nice description of how Meiji got born, her mom got drunk and high, had sex with some elf in a pub or something by accident and had Meiji, so I don't think the whole "Meiji fell in love with an elf" idea is...feasible.

True, but our source of information is Ellis and he doesn't seem to be the most reliable source of information (and it's all speculation anyways)

hey you're gonna love this reply especially from me; her mom got real drunk one night and couldn't even remember a simple contraception spell, this would mean that she obviously thinks of Meji as a mistake. The obvious soloution to the question would be her mom told her that she was a mistake like in most mother - teenage daughter relationships during an argument. Meji hasn't forgiven her mom for saying that and her mom is probably regretting it and letting her have her own way for a while. Further more this is Meji's final year of school and her mother has allready been through it and expected the final "3 month project" and knows it may be important for Meji to leave as a preparation.
If you read through the story line properly and assimilated it in your mind (probably not the best phrase to use for it but the best way I can think of doing it.)into a realistic situation using experience or witness experience of a similar situation it would make sense.

Note to self: Be careful when taking a strong stance on something, even when correct.

i'm just trying to think of an answer from a different perspective. now true your answer is probably the correct one, but i thought of it from the 'angsty teen no one loves me' perspective, and we all know how angsty teens like to make the truth lean more into their own favour

just a bit of over analyzing...

on a different note: hey did anyone else notice that some of the older strips are now coloured?

OK, OK, her name is Meji. Yeah. I always like to think of it as Meiji, since it sounds better. Chill, no cause to PMS over it

I am not sure how Poe's universe works, but if he is following the time honored tradition of 'ripping-off-every-piece-of-sci-fi-and-fantasy-ever-written', then Elves do not breed well.

I.E., she was really lucky/unlucky to have become pregnant from a one night stand with an elf-

But then again, how does Poe's world work? We will not know until he tells us ;p

I think in the Poeverse, everyone is extremely virile and/or fertile. It's like Barry White's playing all the time. Oh yeah.

poe's universe, or the 'poeverse' (i like that ER) works on one, very simple, and all encompasing fact...

'if it can go wrong, it will'

oh, that and,

'poe say's it happened that way, shut up!'

so it works on two basic principles, no wait, three! yes it works on three basic principles...

Yes, the Poeverse is based on Murpheys laws all and all. Also, I was once Thomas de Torquemada. If you are as you say you are, you should know me well.
