I was bored at work so I decided to flip back to the begininning of ES just as a refresher and on the second page, the poem Ozymandius by Shelley was listed. In Amarillo, Texas, there is a very rich, very eccentric millionaire named Stanley Marsh III. If you have ever heard of the Cadillac Ranch, Marsh is the creator of it. Well, just south of Amarillo on I-27, a few exits south of Hollywood, if you go east, just on the other side of the highway, you see two feet sticking up like in the poem. If you go up to it, it has the poem inscribed on it and its supposed to actually be Ramses' statue. (Ozymandius is the Greek name for Ramses.) Just an interesting thing to look at if you are ever in the area. |
