Not to be a jerk or anything, just pointing it out. The lettering is rather small, and it's not entirely obvious.

Knew about the edit button. Pushed back halfway through the submit to add the Thank you. Thus, I got two posts.

BTW, it did occur to me that a newbie could edit one post a hundred times and then have a hundred posts!

Ah, I see. Bummer.

And Semper....NOW I think you should shut up. Before, the jokes seemed on par with all the other general insanity I see around here. While I didn't think it was funny, I don't think most of the jokes around here are that funny, so I kinda shrugged it off. And I don't really see any need for you to be told to shut up, that wasn't very neighborly, but perhaps if he asked you to stop using that joke nicely, you'd feel thusly inclined. Hm? ^_~

*Sigh*

Really, people, just read Sara's FPL page- unlike Meji's, it doesn't really contain potential spoilers, just background info. In fact it ends, more or less, at the exact spot where the comic picks up. Think of it as a mini-prequel :)

--Slight potential spoilers below--

Anyway, unless Poe *really* likes reusing windmills as a setting, I'm pretty sure this is the same scenario from the last section of the FPL page. Sara is in the mill, about to rudely interrupt a secret meeting between a couple members of the Wraiths Gewehr, a mercenary-and-assassination gang, of sorts, that Sara's Order has it in for. The fellow with the watch is most likely Warrel, the older monk Sara is apprenticed to (the FPL page made him sound older than he looks in the comic, but then, Sara's pretty young). It seems a fair assumption, given that he has a magical staff of the same type as Sara's. I would guess that the watch is to time how long she takes to finish the job, as a test. He may also be timing so that, if too much time passes, he can bust in to extricate her from any trouble she might be in with the Wraiths (then again, maybe not... the Ensigerum Order's training methods seem to be a bit harsh) The FPL page makes no mention of Warrel actually being there at the time (in fact, it refers to it as a "solo exercise") but it doesn't say he wasn't, either. In any case, I think the comic is going to stick close enough to the script that we can expect a bit of butt-kicking in the near future... :)

(And I do highly recommend reading the FPL page. Ass-kicking is always more fun when you've got some background information on it. And note that the mill is to the south of Saus. I'm leaning more towards the single-timeline theory with each comic :) *tickets! Get yer tickets for the Meji-Sarine showdown! Now going for 10 GP!*)

Dear God, that's the funniest site I've seen in weeks. I especially like the hate mail section, full of letters from people for whom the word "joke" apparently has no meaning. I mean, when somebody begins their list of "reasons ninjas* are cool" with "1. Ninjas are mammals", it's a pretty good bet the site isn't meant to be taken seriously. Thanks for the link- I needed that (And personally, I like it *better* than Ninja Burger. NB has actual aesthetic values, while RUP perfectly (and intentionally) captures the feel of "I'm a stupid-thirteen-year-old-kid-and-this-is-my- crappy-webpage-about-ninja-because-ninja-rox!")

*That's how it was spelled on the web page. No one who knows about plurals in Japanese flip out and kill me, please :)

I personally like the fake CNN articles best, especially since they are so close to looking real.

And, still in the polite and friendly manner, I'd like to point out that deleting posts is also possible. And I don't think editing increases your post count. Haven't actually checked. Oh, and yes: Deleting a post subtracts one from your post count.

How am I supposed to take this kid with a stick seriously when he is wearing that girly long sleeve half hand cover thingy?!

Oop. I hadn't noticed that.

Alright, you ninja lovers can have your say, I'll concede he's a ninja of some form, because I have never seen a mage wear anything like that. Though I still stand by the "wanderer" theory.

And hey, now there are DEFINATELY ninjas in the comic. And they're in the rafters....

Because, like a famous martial artist named after a hair product, all manner of fun stuff come pouring out of his sleeves onto his hapless foes.

Sorry, couldn't resist - It's rare that I actually call something completely right :) Who wants to bet five blue panties that watch-boy is Warrel, the monk assigned to train Sara?

What about a ninja/mage multiclass?

Extension of ninja magic and whatnot.
