It's always "Hitler this" and "Hitler that" but in actuality the 20th century was absolutely swimming with human monsters. Stalin slaughtered more people than Hitler ever did but nobody ever goes on about him anymore.

Pol Pot and his Khmer Rouge were so overwhelimingly evil. Pure, undiluted, sum of filth and sickness of humanity evil, that I can't even begin to examine the carnage they wrought upon the face of this globe without becoming physically ill.

I think Pol Pot would have made Hitler weep and shudder like a schoolgirl looking at her first cock.

*sighs* oh well, *jumps on hijacked bandwagon* Yeah, Stalin was a monster, but he was just killing "his own people" There really wasn't any reason to the slaughter beyond giving the police a high quota to arrest for social infractions to be sent to his Gulag. Well..his purges were systematic, but more political and on a much lesser scale. Now hitler and pol pot and Milosovich (I know I misspelt that), they were on the "ethnic cleansing" kick, which, at least in my mind, puts them on a much higher plane of pure filth than Good Ol Joe, but I can't really say beyond that who was worse than who.

While good old Joe certainly killed a lot of political enemies, he also did his part for racial purity. (The "russian race" in his case)

An awful lot of Jews died in Russia, before, during and after WW2. I wouldn't be surpriced if Stalin also killed a lot of Checzens and other inconvenient minorities.

Hitlers problem was that he lost a war against the greatest propaganda experts in the world, the Americans. This was what made his name top the "bad guy list". (Not that he wasn't a bad bad guy, but he is just one of many)

You all are forgetting the japanese in this matter of evil humans.The sheer level of evil with what they did to Nanking,thousands of POWs and basically every country they took over is staggering.The German diplomat in china at that time actually wrote to hitler trying to convince him to break off a alliance with japan because their army was a killing horde.I think Japan takes the prize for biggest evil because they are the only one which has taken big steps to cover it all up.

Ah yes, how could I have forgotten the Rape of Nanking. Well I guess it's understandable considering how fast the US was to forgive Japan of its war crimes. Sort of the same way the US turns a blind eye to human rights violations in China when the purchasing might of 1 billion potential customers is on the line.

It's not so much as forgiveness more as
"Oh shit those nukes were stronger then I thought!"and that took the spotlight.Thus japan now uses the nukes as a shield to keep everybody focused on them getting nuked instead of their war crimes.Of course Korea,China and just about everybody else in that area doesn't let them forget about it but to the rest of the world it really doesn't matter.Shame about China but what can you really do?The only real way you can bring about change in china is through trade.

Every country, even the US, has its horrible past to cover up. The real thing is, nobody in the country ever hears about it unless it's in a way the government WANTS them to. In Japan, children have most often never even heard of a city in China called Nanking, just as in many other countries the crimes of the past are covered by the propoganda and government/media control of the present.
