guns are for people who aren't skilled enough/brave enough to use a proper weapon like a magical crystal staff thing, or what not.

A: Have money
B: Do not have magic.

If I had magic, and could just toss it around as characters have done, I'd never carry a gun. But if I DIDN'T have that kind of magic, then boy, would I be wanting a gun to carry around. So if I could afford one, I'd have one.

If I had majick, I'd still carry around a gun, for the show of threat. It's not using it... It's deterring people with it that counts.

For those of us who have read the Gunslinger/dark tower cycle, I suggest perhaps guns are of that order. I.E., there is a glass of gunslingers (who she is munching on) who are supposed to not only have guns but be fairly überl33t with em, so , um, these are novice bitches or something...yeah, and hey, even the Gunslingers from the books were annihilated save one. Money on that if Jon was there, it wouldn't be such a slaughter.

Perhaps the guns were those really olden ones, like flintlock pistols? You know, those that don't really have the accuracy and power that the revolvers of today do. Still, guns are overpowered. *nods sagely*

any way on topic: people who think a pistol is obselete as a viable weapon in close quarters combat the fact that your average pistol is only around 2 to 3 inches bigger than your clenched fist makes it more suitable than a 2.6ft (2 and a half feet or 75cm) long assault rifle also this isn't a game you get shot once with a pistol you could die a round to the stomach can kill in minutes all you need to do is puncture something vital.
