I would like to say Ian threw down and it looks like he just whipped some serious Elven ASS!

Also, I have a question for Poe. Is the page number and all in the middle intentional, or just something that fucked up and will be fixed for the print version? I've only noticed it on one, maybe two other strips, and I was curious.

For some reason, I just got a mega "Ian is Sephy-sama" vibe. If he says "You're all puppets", it's time for crazy jackets.

Well, judging by the placement of the crater, I'd say he knocked the crap out of two elves, and completely vaporized Jon.

SWEET!

I think those Elves are more than beaten up.

They're kind of black and seem to be smoking, usually that means they got they're ass burned off.

Whoever guessed that the healer would come help with the fighting if the situation got bad enough was apparently right.

I wonder how a trained healer can stand to fight? Wouldn't it be counter-intuitive for him? I mean, if my whole being went into saving lives (which, judging from what I know of decent healers, it would), wouldn't it fuck me up pretty badly to try to take one?

Just a thought. On the other hand... I'm an amateur healer and a pacifist, so maybe it would make more sense to someone who hadn't spent her whole life trying to not hurt people and to heal where she can... or maybe not.

And if somebody is trying to kill you and you have a gun, you'll fire the gun at him until he is dead. The End. Self-preservation instinct > pacifism.

Also, wouldn't it make sense for a healer to have protective spells?

No, No, No, No, NO NO NO NO NO!!!

A healer is someone who heals the injuries of others.

Just because someone is called a cleric, doesnt mean they can do more than heal bruises. Some clerics specifically hunt down undead or other types of critters.

However, a HEALER should never have any kind of spell that harms another. Although, being a healer means you know best how to harm someone. This doesnt translate into spells to actually cause that harm. Unless you study those spells, and then you are obviously NO LONGER a HEALER.

That is all...

EDIT: Yes, I know you said 'protective' spells and not attack spells. However, in many peoples mind that is the same thing.

Now, this is all. 8)

There are many times when you can save the most lives by taking a few.
For instance, if you could have killed, say, hitler when he was a child, and assuming that his being dead would have prevented the whole string of persecutions (which i'm not 100% sure it would) would you be able to do it, to kill that innocent child? Even if your whole life was devoted to saving lives, would you be able to do that? How about if you were't SURE that killing him would stop it, but you thought there was a good chance?

I'm kinda ripping off SoT series here, but they make some good points, if you allow evil to run rampant, you do not actively fight it if you can, then you are agreeing to it. If you believe that any person has the right to take your life, and that you in defending it would be a bad person or immoral, then you are aknowledging that your life has no value, and that theirs has more than yours, which is in essence defying the whole basis of the morals which you would be trying to protect (that everyone has an equal right to live, and therefor impinging on that right is wrong).

When someone murders, in cold blood, without moral reason or intent, they forfeit their right to live.

Um... that got off topic, just go read the sword of truth series, especially the last one :p

Who associates protective with offensive that closely?
If I was a healer, I'd make damn sure I could do something in a fight BEFORE anyone got hurt. Sort of pre-emptive healing. Magical shielding forcefields, calming-spells, so on.

Self-preservation is a very strong response, it can overrule the most pacifistic notion anyone holds.

Sorry, I grew up in the era of; When fearful of an attack, attack and kill your opponent first.

Self preservation does not have to overrule pacifism. Cept for the people, who i'll have to admit i am rather contemptuos of for the reasons stated above, who will do no violence, even if someone is killing them, or worse their family and friends. This isn't pacifism, as much as stupidity.

But normal pacifism only goes to a certain point. Or the good kind anyway. You won't start a fight, but if someone hurts you your family or friends you'll sure as hell end it. that's my kind of pacifism.

Yes, the healer will be useful. Because the healer and the psyker are the same person, I believe. The elven commander says "Korene, do your physic shit" and "Korene, do your healy shit" at two different times. Korene will be able to mindrape John, or Ian, even if he isnt much in actual combat. Where is Meji, though? Im assuming she is comatose?

Korene was the one who sent the impulse to clear the humans but it was the commander who was doing the "disruption effects" that knocked out Meji.
