I'm assuming the n00b bit, in which case that's fine. But there's a long and complex story behind my choosing this screen name which I won't bore you with, but it's for a very good reason :-) anyway as far as the whole obsessive fanboy/girl/creature goes, I think I agree with Skije (sounds Dutch, that). Extremes in either direction are still extremes. There's a difference between being a fan and being obsessive. On the other hand, I'm a little obsessive about Sarine :-) some great drawing there...

Depends if you pronounce it correctly, ::cough::Bluesoul, Kuh, MiB, Japser and the rest of you::cough::

Sky~ee. NOT Skgie. or fjord.

And here I was, pronouncing it (at least mentally) Ska~ghie. I'll try to keep it that in mind, though.

So, you're saying you took the perfectly usable name Skie (Blue dragon of Kitiara's from DragonLance, if I'm correct) and added a worthless (ie: Read silent) J to it?

No, it came from Sky.

I was pronouncing it with a soft, almost silent j, much like the French usage. So basically sky with a heavy accent in the middle.

Now that I think about it though, does it really matter one bit how the heck we pronounce someone's screen name? The only time it would matter is if we were speaking to or about him, in which case we would probably use his real name anyway.

*reads Sani's post*

Damn straight. *tosses back his drink* Now I remember why I like you. You suck up to me more than anybody else.

I'm not sure if the bit where Skidgie got upset about everyone mispronouncing his nick was recorded or not.

*Standing Ovation for I_M* BRAVO! BRAVO!!! At last someone else who has my disdane for DBZ fanboys *and* plans for Global Domination!(TM)

...Perhaps if we could bribe the studio that does DBZ to put subliminal messages into the cartoon... Yes! A fanboy army... It could number in the hundreds of thousands...

It *COULD* work!

Or at least brainwash them into having slightly higher standards...

They already get those on the imported or unrated DVD's.

Plus they already have subliminal messages to buy more merchandise. How the heck do you think that crap sells, anyway?

I'm reading Dune for the first time and am wholly convinced that had it been written thirty years later, it would be entirely because of a partnership with Dasani or Ozarka.

As for my plans to conquer the earth... I'm an odd combination of being impatient to achieve my goals and being quite willing to spend as long as it takes to get it done right. Many people dream of building giant robots to ravage major continental areas with and crush the globe under a banner of oppression, heavy taxes, and more wenches than you can shake a magical vibrating sai at. I actually plan on achieving it. Screw years of research. We're just going to slap a multi-story tall robot together with whatever it takes and fix any resulting problems along the way. It worked for the US in WWII and most major corporations, especially automobile manufacturers and other people supposedly concerned with our safety, so why can't it work for me too, eh?

Besides, I already five figureheads/scapegoats ready to take the blame should my conquest fail. After that, I'll try a pyramid scheme to recruit more members into my Legions of Terror (C and Tm) and try again.

Lemme guess... you've already seen the movies, new and old, and now you want to read the Original and praise its worthiness.

It's a really long sci-fi stapl, a classic, which I would highly recommend you read, if only to say you did. If you're not much a reader, get the book-on-tape. It has SAND WORMS!!

Frank Herbert used to live about two hours away from here.

Or is Frank Herbert that scientologist? *scratches head*

The books were an amazing Science Fiction (Herbert hated them being called SciFi) series about politics, drugs, religion, and why you really shouldn't mix the lot of them. That said,
