Mutant for Hire: I agree, that would be cool.

Skjie: Han Solo+1

As to the suggestion that the guy Mandi was serving could be Sarna in disguise, the look is wrong. Mind, Sarna could have tweaked her glamour so that Sarine didn't instantly spot her. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if it turned out that Sarna was here, but it almost seems too cliche... We'll just have to wait and see.

Vash was major league wuss with that code against killing no matter what. I'd be even more appalled with Jon being that wussy than with him being magically talented. I'd rather Jon not have any powers and still manage to hold his own without them, and to point out to everyone else that there are other ways to do things besides magic. Not the same thing as having powers and not using them like major-grade wimp Vash.

I'm not sure I'd put Han Solo at the top of the ranking though. Han was never as good as he made himself out to be. If we're really going to go for badasses, let's go with Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name. Of course Jon's sort of a softie at heart so he's more in the range of the Magnificent Seven. who were the same.

"For a few dollars more" theme starts insinuating itself in my brain...DARN Y--THANK YOU.

Wait...that was the "Dr.Who" theme. Arg--yeah, baby.

Nobody disses Vash. It takes a super-cool bad-ass to run around shooting people and blowing shit up without killing anybody. I'd like to see you try it without needing any body bags, your own or otherwise. Besides, he ended up realizing that killing is sometimes necessary anyway.

Your punishment shall be cruel and unusual, in the best tradition of the CoI. Pray for your anus. It's gonna be a loooooooong time before it stops feeling violated.

+1 for mentioning "Blondie" as a bigger badass than Han Solo though. As cool as Solo is, NOBODY can touch the Man With No Name.

*begins humming opening theme to The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly*

Sorry, already got a DNI from Poe a while back for actually working out the history of the monk order.

And yes, I'll diss Vash. I'll admit it takes a lot more skill not to kill than to kill, but frankly he was crippling himself with his attitude for most of the series.

if you dont put it in your sig, the dni falls off and needs to be re-applied.
plus when that happens it makes your anus alot tighter.
i think your screwed, and over opinionated.

I'd argue that Poe trumps CoI and that Poe's DNI stands. And just because he holds an opinion that is the extreme opposite of your own does not mean he should be reamed.

please note that my opinion is completly outside of the discussion, for all you guys know, i could dislike vash as well, theres just the matter of not just trying to piss people off by openly dissing a poplular character.

while poe DNIing him does say something, the fact that he didnt put it in his sig shows how much regaurd he had for it. but then again, its only text on both sides of the coin. so dont make an intitiation more than it is, nor a DNI.

Oh, come on! If people can't take someone expressing a contrary viewpoint what's the purpose of discussion on a forum? I certainly wouldn't appreciate just one person expressing an opinion and then everyone "'Me too'ing like some braindead AOLer." Next we'll have people being initiated for saying that the market capitalist system is retarded and communism could beat it any day of the week, or that Poe is of only mediocre talent...

Oh, and something else I didn't notice, at no point was he instructed to have the DNI in his .sig, which could explain why he was not carrying it around. I agree that in the end it is just text, however one should consider seriously whether they are overreacting (or being highly inflammatory) before they start writing their extended story involving cruel and unusual punishments being meted out to the offender.

hm...all i was saying is going out of your way to insult something that isnt real is just needlessly pissing people off. but i was more showing that he coulda said it in a way that doesnt try and force his opinion onto others or say it in a way that doesnt piss people off.

you dont tell a preacher you thought jesus was a homo, you tell him you arent attracted to the christian religion. get my drift?

now i guess the right thing to do here is for him to put DNId by poe in his sig an I_M to back down?

either way, i wasnt for ether side, i just like conflict...

Pff. Who cares? It's petty, but if MFH doesn't like it, just ignore it.

Unless he puts the DNI into his sig before I initiate him (I will allow a fair amount of time before I get around to doing it) or Poe steps in again, his ass is mine. Literally.

DNI laid on by Poe on this page right here:
http://forums.kyhm.com/viewtopic.php?p=153772&highlight=#153772

Validated DNI.

Lack of such in signature is hardly a reason to place an initiation upon their soul. Even the Grand Visier Swamp gas has recognized the DNI.
I second the DNI, just to overcome aother fucking Monday at 'work'.

PS: WORK SUCKS, and so does my supervisor.

@Sano: I rank everything on a 1 to ___ scale. I got it from an old defunct comic some time ago.

"On a scale of one to sauce, this is fucking raviolli"

It stuck with me.

1) DNI almost ALWAYS trumps initiation. ESPECIALLY if it's Poe. I R teh 31|)4|2. STFU AND BACK OFF! OMG I CAN'T STOP IT! |)4 |>41|\|!!!!!!!!111one

*slaps self silly*

sorry, back on track...oh yea!

2) Congrats to Skije who, at a constant of 14.14 PPD, has reached 1400 in about three months.

This puts you above Wolfie's 12+ PPD, which INCLUDES a good couple months break.

You whore.

Eh. He really didn't have a good reason to be initiated. I mean, had he said something like, "p03 = teh 14m3!", or forgotten to put the DNI thingy in his sig when warned, then yeah, an initiation could be in order. But I don't see it.

And apparently, my PPD is 1.06. It would seem that lurking for a year has that effect.

Personally I would like Vash and Trigun a lot more if it hadn't of come to the U.S. If theres one thing that can put me off of an anime it's rabid over-zealous fans, and nothing makes me more angry about such fans than going into an anime chatroom and seeing three people with some variation on "Vash_the_Stampede..." (More than likely "Vash_TheStampede," "1337_Master_Vash" and "SSJ7-Vash"[Because we just know idiot noobs like to mix and match their anime!])

I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm fuming, who am I kidding though? I am...

To be fair though, the same thing happened to Cowboy Bebop, though not to such an extent, and CB is a much more badass show than Trigun. and has a much smaller rabid-fanbase...

And before I_M pounces me for saying something negative about TG, the show is awesome, the fans are not...

You think thats bad, anime chatrooms i can at least tune out, try playing city of heroes. fricking 20 bazillion versions of dbz, trigun, hell even sailor moon names. Its scary shit :o
As for the whole init thing, (shrug) seeing as how hes a lurker, he will most likely ignore the entire thing. And just to point it out, my init was during the 'rabid lolzor we have to make our init quota!!!!!1111 one one' period where they were being given out like dollar bills in a strip club. No rhyme or reason, so its not exactly unheard of for an init to be given when not warranted or needed.

Well, I loved both Trigun and Cowboy Bebop. Even if someone spoiled the end of CB. And yes, I'm in the group that thinks Vash is badass. But I don't think I could be classed as a rabid fan in any way.

Now, actually just yesterday, I was playing DoD, and someone calling himself SailorMoon joined the server. So naturally I changed my nick to Sailor Bubba. And, at some point, said 'Magical testosterone scout transformation.'

He probably didn't get any of it.
