That aside, they want to get everyone together before talking about this? How much do they know about what happened, are they stalling for time to kill her off, does everyone else in the room now have to be silenced, etc. etc.

so, how many red shirt elves does it take to prevent the near fatal beatings of their beloved leaders? i'm hoping its more then just the two at the door.

sarine needs to get her answers and get out in as little time as possible to maximize the shock of her entrence. the longer she plays paddycakes with this official the more likely they close off her exit out of the (i think) one door out.

i like the questioning of the scene where someone kicks a door down and starts shouting without any coherency. that never made sense to me either.

"Come back tomorrow so we can have you properly killed in your sleep."
"..."
"Wait. Did I say that out loud?"

"Yes, we are aware of who you are (and how much trouble you have caused us), Peregin Sarine. Your name has come up several times in the last month (as we decided whom to give the contract to)..."

"It would probably be best if you could return tomorrow to discuss the matter, when all of the houses have assembled (so that we have enough power concentrated in one place to kill you without significant risk to ourselves after the summary trial and conviction)."

You know, he could just say "Wait. Did I just say that out loud?" without having actually said anything beforehand. Then when he gets strange looks, he can just stare back, secure in the knowledge that nothing's been let slip.

Oh man, that inspires a hilarious idea.

Just bust out "Did I say that out loud?" at random times, and then be like "Oh, good thing." Proceed to eye anyone in hearing distance.

That would be the concept, yes. The question is, is it really as good as the theory sounds?

Sarine needs to get this out in the open before she can be effectively silenced. I figure she has about 30 seconds before somebody casts a mute spell on her to prevent her from spilling the beans...

Unless everyone in the room is aware of what she has uncovered, in which case Sarine had better start running now to get a head start on those who hunt elves.

Anyway, have anyone considered maybe they aren't going to kill Sarine on the spot? That they just might think this is something a little less serious then the status of their gods? Some of them might now, I doubt they're all aware of it, but is a possibility.

Some important elves may want to see Sarine dead, but it seems unlikely that they'll try to kill her on site or even want to dispose of her.

After all, you don't just go off killing another elf without thinking about it or questioning your motives. Hush hush, Peregin.

And then there's the whole honor code, and elven reverence for life. The one elf stationed in that town who tried to murder Sarine and the ones who may have been behind him were probably out of the ordinary. I think elven society for all of it's vicious bloodbaths is basically more peaceful then an average human one.
