http://www.errantstory.com/donations.php has a "tell your friends" type link which doesn't work. It uses "htp" instead of "http" ...

[b]Edit: Please refer future postings in this thread to Impy's official thread.[b]

*sigh* Caught again. Y'all are the greatest bosses ever, you never miss a single thing, but never yell at me for it, either. ^-^'

The support page isn't done yet, it's supposed to have fliers for printing and various other non-financial ways that fans can support and promote the comic. It's slipped to the bottom of the to-do list because, to be perfectly honest, the financial side of things has become an all-consuming worry of mine and I just haven't had time for anything else.

The media kit is undergoing constant revision... the latest version got passed out at Acen, but there's not a pdf version made up yet for ready download, though the information is all there on the page. I'll be putting that up in the next day or so.

Well, I don't yell at you mainly because you scare the hell out of me.
So I am left launching spitballs from inside a shark cage dangling from the underside of a helicopter.

Same problem still exists except when you fix the spelling it gives a 404. Likewise 404ing when going to http://www.errantstory.com/commissions.php

I'm both swamped and slow. The commissions page isn't done yet, and neither is the page that will include all sorts of banners etc.

However, commissions rates follow more or less the same lines as the previous donations gift scale discussed earlier.

On a similar note, the image at <a href="http://www.errantstory.com/archive.php?date=2005-12-25">http://www.errantstory.com/archive.php?date=2005-12-25</a> seems to be broken.

That's actually a different problem. Poe never leaves non-storyline pages up, except the archiving system doesn't want to remove the pages that any non-storyline art was formerly on. This is the picture that was posted on the day in question.

So is this a good thread in which to cry about the broken redirection from PayPal to the new twinbladed donation wallpaper? The error message when I clicked on "Return to merchant" said:

Quote:
Method Not Allowed
The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /wallpapers/[edited for secrecy].html.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at www.errantstory.com Port 80

And when I got tricky and just used the url without the redirect I got to see the page with the old, non-bladed wallpaper, featuring the two girls by the tree. That's not what I wanted to see.

I'm using Opera by the way. But it seems to be up to date with all the fancy java stuff that some sites use, so I don't think that it should be the cause of whatever trouble afflicted my case.

Fixed!

Anyone who missed out when they donated, please e-mail me and I'll send you the correct URL.

The pictures on the ebay item are down

That's because the announcement is over 7 months old... it's a remnant bug that keeps unfixing itself that apparently Kry never took the time to fix permanently.

We do have a solution about 1/3 of the way ready to implement that would eliminate all of those sorts of problems, and I have already asked that the intermediary step be taken so that we'll have a temporary fix for it... but Kry has vanishued, so I have no idea when it'll be ready to happen.

Speaking of donations, is it possible to handle by a bank account transaction?

I'm not sure what you mean... so I'll just try to cover all the possibilities...

If you want to forgo the use of paypal and send something material, we do accept checks or money orders through the US Mail or any other delivery service you like. These should go to our P.O. Box (which we'll be keeping for six months before we get a new one closer to our new house), and you should include with it which wallpaper you want at what size, your e-mail address, and your mailing address for the button if applicable.

If all you want is to send internet monies, you can do whatever Paypal lets you do. They're pretty much full-service, and may even have an option to allow you to deed us your organs electronically at this point, for all I know. (Note: I'm actually reasonably sure they do NOT allow the transfer of human organs).

In person, we accept pretty much anything you hand us, except for pets and small children. Alcohol is always nice, and so are hugs (though Poe might possibly explode if someone tried to give him one). Also, Poe is no longer allowed to accept mail order brides.

In short... we appreciate anyone's generosity, even if all they ever give us is a compliment. Whatever you want to do is fine with us, we'll find some way to say thanks.

Damn. I've been looking forward to getting rid of this one kidney, just taking up space in redundancy...
Anyway, I don't know how to work Paypal, I don't have an account. Do they want a credit-card number or something? If we were in the same country, I would just ask for a bank account number and tell my bank to send my money there, but I don't really know how that works intercontinentally.

So kidneys are cool? Excellent.

PayPal desires to be linked to credit cards and bank accounts so that they can draw funds from there in case the money in the PayPal account isn't enough, but there is no need to actually link a PayPal account to a bank account or credit card. Well, it's also there to verify the identity of the account owner, but you don't have to be verified to use the account for sending money.

You simply send money to PayPal's bank account, and include the provided identifier number to show them which one of their users is sending the money. In my case they also defaulted to Euro when I really wanted to load up my account with US dollars, so going to the page where the account's default currency can be changed may be a good idea for people outside of USA.

Once a PayPal account is set up it's easier to use than my internet bank account, but slightly less secure since all it takes is a username and a password to log in. My PayPal password is one of the few passwords I take care to remember instead of writing down somewhere. ;)
