Such excitement is indicative of a severely repressed culture. We see boobies on billboards here all the time. Only Americans suffer brain-freeze when they see one.

One of the first things Americans have to learn when arriving here (EU), is to not brain-freeze at the sight of bare nipples. It's the first indication of n00bishness.

? You mean this?

Of course life doesn't end when you are thirty, that's when women are at the height of their libido/lust. Rather I was wondering about the fanservice focus on Sarine, it's unusual to focus on a thirty-year old as a sexual object. Come to think of it though, Errant Story would have a lot of mid-twentyish readers...

Ooooo, you are sooo close to a butt thumping. From my perspective, thirty is dead young and about the time when most people finally start becoming sufficiently adult to have some coherence in their conversation. For one thing, they don't start making asses of themselve with foolish assumptions.

Why is everyone so hot for Sarine? She looks sort of nearly thirty-ish to me. She isn't right young is what I'm trying to say.

Oh foo, commence the fanboyish flames. ;)
I like her face though, her hair is ok/good as well.

And for a healthy thirty-year old (the height of sexual instincts for women) her skin is flawless.

I once knew a thirty year old that was dead frozen. Can we say "frigid"? She was raised in the deep south "bible belt" where the constant propoganda of "sex is evil" reigns supreme. Her guilt over the act of sex completely suppressed her enjoyment of same. In the 60's, we called them "hang ups". After I found that out, I split. I don't need those sorts of neurosis in my life.

What I'm trying to say is that your generalizations don't float. Rather, they have all the floatation capacity of a lead brick.

I suppose my gripe with the appraisal of her beauty is that while a pretty, flawless woman of about thirty years of age her looks aren't too special to me other then her being an elf with cute ears, long hair and a near flawless physical condition.

She's not just a hot thirty year old, she's a superfly deadly assassin with a mysterious past, semi-known motivations, and a deep personality that seems tortured and loving at different times. Sarine is a complex and well thought out character, much more so than any other character in this story in my opinion. So going from character alone, she is the most attractive, the fact that she's smokin hot helps a lot. I think what really does it for me is that seeming air of experience she carries with her. Its like nothing is new, because she has seen everything there is to see, but that she trys to make it seem fresh or something...

True enough, personally next to Jon and cat she is my favorite character for all of the above reasons you mentioned.
superfly 1, 2, 3, 4... ever read that old turn-based online strategy game joke?

I'm suprised that Boss out of town, and others, aren't getting their mallets ready as well. On the off-chance that thou art troll, I'll sign off now.

Well, those who can't get enough hot lesbian "sexxors," whatever the hell that is, try out the new series Hexed on BBC America. It is about a young Englishwoman who discovers she has magical powers and an important destiny. It's like Charmed, except it's not retarded.

Thanks, BBC is one of the few channels I get here. The FR and DE stations aren't all that good. I'll look for it. After three years as an ex-pat, I've lost track of what's playing.

Anyway, one of the female characters is an lesbian high school girl with a nice, smutty English sense of humor and a predeliction for checking out the level of bisexual interest in her classmates by psychically infiltrating their wet dreams.

How can you go wrong with that?

Oh, there's a male lead who looks like a lean Orlando Bloom. He stands around looking pretty and stubbly and vaguely evil, constantly reminding the heroine that she'd doomed to die for for him and she might as well give up resisting his charms. It would do the series a world of good if, in the middle of one of his ominous, knowing speeches, she gave his smug, boring, stiffly handsome face a really good shot with a tire iron.

A rusty one. Two-handed. Swinging from the shoulder.

Gawd, I miss Buffy

Argh argh argh argh argh

It's not really that massive, I think it's 900kb or so... but I suspect that imageshack throttles the uprate something fierce. I need a better spot to put it. I tried photo bucket, but it insisted on resizing it to the point where it became impossible to view it.

Tell me this: in what world do you live in when a fucking IMAGE that's almost 1 meg in size isn't massive? Because I don't live in that bizzaro world.

900kb in a sig is rather extreme, as far as bandwidth goes.

An alternate reading of that 4th panel I haven't seen yet, i.e. The "homebody" elves who refused congress with humans are uppity because they "told them so" that something bad would happen if they went "out there". "here" being Elfhome and "the other side" being where humans and such live.

I doubt seriously they would let just anyone return who had opposed them in a war.

And on top of that allow them to assume any position of authority if they were for some reason allowed to return.

Or am I totally misreading all of your thoughts on the situation?
Or do you all have some arcane insight into the situation that is not apparent?

Now, on to lecherous thoughts!

...so at 5KB/sec (56k dialup, many people still have this), that's about 3 minutes. That's totally fucking absurd for a sig. Even on a fast connection, it's a noticeable delay.

Atzel, your sig hurts my eyes. Except the bit where it has Richard Dean Anderson yelling about what looks like a giant pizza. That made me laugh.

Most of my posts sound somewhat meaner to begin with and have more typos, then I begin my edits - sometimes being interrupted because people post too quickly and I don't like the Preview button.

Went down fighting the good fight against an army of monsters.

Dave Boraneuz is currently co-starring in the forensics crime show "Bones," ably playing a snarky FBI agent.
