Jon still doesn't know that she only kills the Errants that went psycho-killer.

I can seriously believe that Sarine has ethical problems with Jon's profession and they they would not be hypocritical at all. Sarine only kills for a reason, Jon kills for pay. This is going to give her much bigger problems with Sara, when they finally meet. Sara doesn't need reasons, only orders. Hell she doesn't even get geld for it, a much larger ethical problem for Sarine.

Remember: Poe hasn't made any law against me carving off your skin and sewing a three-piece suit out of it.

Only being paid is not sufficient reason. Sarine kills those who have proven themselves dangerous to others. Her calling has the moral high-ground there. Jon is just a hired thug.

I don't know what's more disturbing, that you might like it or that I might like doing it some more.

You know, Jon should of just said "Yes" instead of "Well, no one I'm shooting at is really that innocent anyways..." and saved him some time. Sarine isn't going to let this up until she figures out that Jon really isn't a nice guy.

I think the reason I first fell in love with Errant Story is precisely that none of the protagonists are actually good guys... yet they're still whole and complete characters that are easy to love.

Jon- Kills people for money
Sarine- Commits random acts of genocide
Meji- Wants to enslave reality
Ellis- Lives to annoy people

You're forgetting Ian, the one actually decent(morally) character. He's trying to help out his sister... but then again he doesn't seem to have anything against stealing from old men and impersonating priests.

And seems to really like killing elves.

You know, I get the feeling Sarine doesn't relize that Jon doesn't like her. I mean, once Meji went with Ian, Jon just left as fast as he fucking could, I don't think he was even going to tell Sarine he left. And Meji kept trying to leave her behind... While she just kept on telling them about Elf crap and whatz-it.

How could she not notice that Meji and Jon don't want to be around her?

Like RBM said, he's just as genocidal as Sarine as far as elves are concerned.

Hey now, do not tarnish my good reputation with the readers. I have only the best of intentions in mind.

The city that Ian knocked down was collateral damage. He wasn't trying to, honest. However, what's a half-elf to do when he gets attacked by psychotically moronic and half-wit full elves.

The huge oragsm that the goddess gave him was worth it though ;)

You know, I don't recall Sarine killing any more than a single individual at a time and only one of those was not in self-defense.

Who became a thug to get money quickly for him, his sister and his mother.

And after his mother rejected him and his money, find himself in need to support himself with only one type of job he had a formation for.

That alway more easy to juge at one moment in time than looking the big picture and find that thing are not that easy to separate.

After all, Sarine might kills those (Errant) who have proven themselves dangerous to others, but she was probably part of those soldier elves that try to extinct the troll race, juging that they were a failure of the gods desire, idea that seem to be deny by the fact that the petha...pentha...petah... the fearies try to educate them after having left the elves...

It was an ends justify the means kind of situation.

He had to have disguise to get what he needed to save his sister. He didn't kill anyone for the clothes and from then on was still in costume.

He has only killed in self defense and has been pretty selfless the whole time.


He is the only pure one in the comic. However, I have a dire feeling that he soon is going to be the most corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely and such.
