Poe has gotten himself an honest-to-god point on how heinously fucked up Marvel, these little abominations moreso than most, in days of late. Its not exactly a novel revelation as we have known it from, what, 1993 or somewhere in there? We know its all circling the toilet, but we hold out hope that isolated islands of dignity and entertainment. Fat chance, I know.

Spidey at least is a cool abomination. He eats people and is being fucked with by all of spider-kind. Hopefully Mary Jane lays an eggsack.

No wayyy. Comics are getting much more sophisticated nowadays. I will be the first to agree that Antman needs to fucking die, but having him as a superhero is a GOOD thing. We need to move away from this childish shit about everyone who claims to be a superhero automatically being a good guy. Not everyone can be Captain America in mind body and soul, and Iron Man may ultimately be a dick, but he's a three dimensional dick, and if you can't do anything with that last sentence Labrat them Im not sure what else I can throw you.

Though Poe is right about the "pro-registration" forces become more and more clear cut as the bad guys. They did a good job at first of making registration seem like a morally acceptable position to take, which was admirable, considering the fact that everyone was automatically going to be in favor of the Rebel Fighters(tm) over the Shady Government(tm) right from the get go, but they've kind of lost that.

Also, it makes for good character development, just going from which side each hero chose. Spider Man may be awesome concentrate, but at heart he's still somewhat more easily manipulated and impressionable then your average superhero. His is an interesting and believable story arc. Besides, we all know he's ultimately going to do the right thing.

What annoys me is how there are so many superheros kicking around now, that they just utterly change their capabilities and powers as and when necessary, so there's even LESS consistency then normal. I accept that some writers arn't going to do some superheros justice, and that occasionally your favourite guy is going to get sideswiped by someone and you just sound like a moron if you whine. But still. Having people sneak up on Daredevil, as and when it's convenient for the plot? You don't fucking sneak up on Daredevil, motherfuckers. Daredevil heard you get up this morning from your hotel in another country.

The REAL problem with comic books today is they cost way too much for too little, and you can never be sure if you're buying something that's not going to suck.

While the pro-reg side is mostly composed of fuckwads, there are a few good folks in there:
Ms. Marvel
She-Hulk
Reed Richards
Doc Samson

Of course, Reed's about to change sides, She-Hulk thinks the entire thing is fucked up, and Hulk's gonna get back to the planet and kill fucking everybody.

Awesome movie. Great fun. Girlfriend liked it to. (So did your mom.)

I'm pretty sure Onion has an avatar from it, though I'm not sure, I haven't seen the movie myself. Strangely enough, a lot of my female friends have seen it...

... weird.

Carnegie Mellon aired Pirates as an event movie while I was there. Half the student body saw it.

I guess I need to get back into comic books. Wait, did I ever read them before?

Ah well. I can't imagine Peter Parker unmasking himself. That's just stupid and pointless... and also stupid.

Anywho, I guess I'll be reading these Civil War comics.

Indeed you are correct, he does. Yarr.

Most girls are bisexual deep down inside. Seriously, they taught us that back in college. ("They" being the professors, not the bi girls. Though I got taught plenty by them too...). That aside, most of them are just as interested in sex as guys, they just don't 'need' it as strongly as guys do. Doesn't mean they don't enjoy it.

Oh yeah. I know what the ladies like.

Where does one find . . . Civil War Comics? I assume you mean Ameican Civil War?

Go to a comic book store and buy about $200 worth of the last five months of Marvel comics.

Or just wiki Marvel Civil War, you'll get a list of the story so far.

Failing that you can always just search on some torrent sites for Civil War comics.

Wow, that's bad. I don't even read comics all that much, and I know about it.

Another way to do it is to go to your local library. The one I'm at right now has comics in the YA section, but the only Civil War ones they have are the Spiderman ones. Ah well, I'm not a huge fan of the other guys that I know are involved in the Civil War storyline, except for the X-Men.

This story seems to be suffering from a common Marvel ailment. Too long, too convoluted, too big(aka too many writers). These crossovers always seem to get out of hand to me. They always seem to plow onward destroying everything until they collapse under their own weight. Then everything gets reset to normal.

Hopefully there will at least be lasting ramifications of a universal wide civil war. Not just a bunch of nobody-gave-a -fuck-about heros going away, ala House of M.

Maybe the Hulk should show up and kill everybody.
Or at least that stupid clone of Thor
