The Civil War arc is yet another example of 'too many cooks' syndrome. They are trying to do too damned much with it, with too many people working on it. Quite naturally, it's not working near so well in practice as it did in theory. I'm kinda sorta halfassed following it, because I'm a marvel fan of old, though lately DC is getting more of my good words. Even though it's the more overpowered of the two universes. you know what crossover I really wanna see? Superman VRS Goku. He wouldn't need magic or kryptonite or any of that shit, he'd just beat the everloving royal blue-and-red crap of of Supes. And any comic where Superman gets the shit kicked out of him is good

I think Spiderman got played royally. Tony Stark/Iron Man gained and betrayed his trust, and Spidey is enough of a good guy at heart to go back on his words. And there is something to be said for sticking to your word even when its not working out the way you thought it would. Both sides of the fight have their morons and doofs, neither side is totally right or wrong. And I'm hoping to see Cap take Iron Man appart, supertech armor and all in a one-on-one.

Nick Fury is out there somewhere doing his thing, waiting for his moment. By the by, all of you who are calling Deadpool, or Punisher, or Spidey the coolest Marvel character seem to have forgotten ole one eye. Appart from The Watcher(who can't do anything) and, maybey, if he even still exists, the Beyonder, I guarantee that Fury has a better idea of what is going on and what will happen than any other character in the Marvel universe right now. When the time is right, he will take decisive action, and God only knows wich side he will be on, though I suspect he will be backing up the Independants.

I dunno about that one. Whenever I see one on tv, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I get the willies.

That's probably a conditioned response.

I actually really like Civil War. I think it's a fuck tonne more coherent than all the Infinite Crisis bullshit that DC pulled. And the five mini-series leading up to. And at least this won't end with a Retcon Punch either.

That said, Marvel's Annihilation and Planet Hulk are even more superior, and both are completely rocking my world.

If the Fury of today is anything like the Fury of the 60's, then he's going to side with the guys who are against registration. Expect awesome asskickings to ensue shortly afterward.

*sigh* I miss his tommy-gun-toting, cigar-chomping badass days before he became a one-eyed cigar-chomping James Bond.

Well, he had to grow up sooner or later.

Yes, but most of us hoped that growing up would mean getting a bigger gun and shooting the bastard who makes you fill out paperwork.

The best Nick Fury of recent times was Fury in the Punisher Arc "Mother Russia" Fury beating up a six star general with his belt and then telling eight fully armed marines that if they want to kill the Punisher then they have to go through him was awesome.

Actor.

You know, I have to agree. Batman is just too awesome for his own... oh, you're talking about Superman? He's a wimp. All you need is some Kryptonite, and that's every-frikkin-where. He doesn't even know how to fight. He just relies solely on his super-powers. That's the sign of a bad superhero.

Yeah, I think that'd probably work.

Plus some Kryptonite. Like I said, it's everywhere.

Berserker rage? Technically, Wolverine only has two things going for him in a fight: magic healing and the amazing metal skeleton.

Yes, well, when he gets seriously pissed off, his magic healing gets cranked up a notch or two. As in healing wounds an instant after they're made.

And he lost the amazing metal skeleton for a good, long while. And he still kicked ass, though not as much. (I think he got it back, but I've not been into Marvel as much as I used to.)

There was also a point where his own godlike immune system started excreting the crap as a foreign substance.

Na, wouldn't even need to go past Ascended level, I think. Even as a standard SSJ he can crack planets, and he can fight at superspeed. About the only thing that wouldn't go his way, is that Supes is too much of a boy scout to be affected by a Spirit Bomb. A standard issue big-honkin-technicolour-chi-blast-of-doom, on the other hand.....

Vegeta could kill Superman without going Supersaiyan. And I'm talking season 1 Vegeta. His Gallic Gun was enough to crack planets.

Hell, Raditz could probably kill Supes. He was dodging ki blasts that could travel at the speed of light in the first story arc of DBZ. Not to mention that all the Saiyans had honest-to-goodness combat training, and anyone even remotely in Superman's ballpark strength-wise, who has the slightest idea how to fight, can hand the Kryptonian his ass.

When Magneto torn out Wolverine's skeleton wolverine became more powerful because Adamantium is a poison and his healing powers were working overtime to stop it from killing him. So without it he became more powerful than before.

The silly part is that Adamant is nothing more than another name for diamond, which is biologically neutral.

ooops! there goes a catgirl. *tsk*

Except for the whole "cutting through things with sharp metal death" bit.
