Hi, i don't often post here, but I've been a reader for a few years. I'm curious about something that a number of you might be interested in giving a shot at.

Has anyone here considered organizing a lot of their friends to recreate Errant Story as a WoW Machinima project? Aside from getting the people together, and directing it, (and finding good enough voice actors), it shouldn't be too much of a challenge, as WoW features most of the races that make an appearance in ES, (and then some), and mystical medieval landscapes. On top of that, most of the writing is already done for us. ;)

To keep such a project easy to manage, it could be done one chapter/episode at a time, and who knows, maybe after it's completed, someone could put them all on a DVD and sell it similarly to how Red vs. Blue was done. (omg, and with outtakes!)

Unfortunately, i don't have WoW myself, so i wouldn't be able to do much, but if any enterprising and creative persons out there are willing to give it a try, here would be as good a place as any to discuss it. :D

That is an increadibly poor idea, first of all, it's not original in any way since you've just nicked the concept from Red vs Blue, a show, which, by the way, sucks ass (apart from the odd good line).

Secondly, it can't be executed.

WoW is too limiting to pull this off properly.

Elves in Errant Story are like humans but taller and pointy-eared. Elves in World of WarCraft are purple and frightening. QED.

Guess it'll have to wait for the Burning Crusade, when you get the non purple elves.

Possible to change skin textures, you know. They'd still have massive handlebars, though.

whether it's actually feasible or not, i'm glad to see some kind of discussion around the idea. Maybe one day it'll be possible to pull off, and i'll look forward to that... :)

I'd use Neverwinter myself, much greater control of characters and you can create your own tileset so that you don't have to worry about half-way through an epic monologue some griefer running past going "GIVE ME ITEMZ!"'

Actor.

Neverwinter 2! When released, mostly same benefits as the original and doesn't look quite so dated.

There are ways around that griefer scenario. Ever wonder why some of the movies have no mobs whatsoever?

No, I have never had any curiosity about Crack of Crackcraft and the crack associated with it. I've heard from a recovering crackcraft addicted relative in college that you can set up private servers though.
