I would be surprised that this doesn't happen more often, but then I remember that most parties tend not to take prisoners or leave any witnesses... -_-;;

My DnD group gave Helm a wedgie (Funny things a Wish spell will do) and ended up in celestial prison for a century...

Pretty much, when it's a powergaming group.

Made an airship out of skeletons before after our old boat sunk one day. Reminds me of the buckyball cage scene in Pirates 2... d20 rules just aren't built for that kind of stuff, though.

I had someone in a game who rigged up a consecutive series of Demonic Graft Machines so that as soon as one spit you out, another would pick you up.

The point to him doing this was to see if it was possible to run through about ten of them without having a talking familiar grafted to your ass.

Oh, yes, and I came out of lurking for no reason other than to say this.

Best line to have a party mate say about you to the DM

" I don't care.. he's just a walking pile of 300 XP to me. "

Runner up...

PC "*uck you God, that won't work. "

Confused DM " Why not? I'll let it ? "

Best action while " Trying to take them out quietly "

* Dwarf picks up the bunkbed with two sleeping guards on it and throws it at the door in which two new guards had just walked in *

Yeah.. some people are rather dense. I was doing a bit of DM'ing on Neverwinter back when it was the thing to do, and someone actually accused me of being a hacker, and tried to kill me.

The server took about a minute to load all the effects my DM mallet hit him with.

...He came back.

...Four times.

Pretty dense... if I remember rightly, NWN included a [DM] tag beside your name whenever you spoke. Maybe that was just party chat.

:P

I don't believe so, but the fact that he could attack me in town should have been a dead giveaway. That, or the hammer glowing with unholy evil light, or possibly even the fact that I was moving close to ten times the speed of anyone else.

It was a fun server... the guy who ran it was scary at coding. Had items you could wear to change the graphics and damage of spells.

Hope the server comes back for NWN2.

Man, Tonberry - For someone who's been lurking, you've really gotten going again. Mayhaps it's the surge in Elders cropping up that's working on you?

Actually.. NWN is still something of the thing to do. I've retired from DMing due to wanting a lack of headaches for babysitting noobs and just enjoy playing and building now. There are still some really good servers out there. And yes, I'm pretty geared up for NWN2 when it comes out.

Actually.. NWN didn't pop that tag by your name. Typically it was put there by the DM themselves. I've given several of my DM Avatar's regular names so that I could use them to interact with PCs without getting the typical " OMG its da DM " reaction.

I just wish NWN2 didn't make all these fancy additions to the graphical end of the game required to run the program itself. It feels almost selfish of the designers to go the Oblivion route in a way - "Get a good, expensive computer or fuck off."

As is, I'm going to have to get a new computer if I want to run it, since I made the mistake of buying one with an integrated video card last year. (I was short on time and cash.)

Yeah... I won't need a new comp, but I'll definately need an upgrade in the vid card in my machine. ( nVidia 5600 Ultra currently ) My machine runs NWN fine now with everything turned on, but the new graphics are gonna put my card at the minimum end of the spectrum. I could run it, but all the good stuff is gonna have to be turned off.

I assume you're running if off a laptop as you mentioned runining on an integrated vid card. Even NWN1 is hard on laptop machines due to cooling issues. ( I'm talking even good machines.. that are supposedly built for gaming ). Its one of the things keeping me from just buying a new laptop and has kept me strapped to my desktop machine.

Not sure, really. Mostly I don't post as I'm not around and can't find a thread I have much of anything to say about. I tend to prefer live chats to forums, when there's a choice.

Though it's odd, because even though I have less leisure time than usual these days doing full-time tech support, I seem to be doing all the old stuff again.

Lots of DnD stories, though.

Yes, yes I do. Alas, I was not taught by a Grue. I suppose I shall suffer for this, too. I am so very, very blue.

I am one of Impy's AD&D-mates, and I'd like to share a few of the choice lines which have come up recently...

Margat the Thief : (To palace guard) He was dead when we broke in, honest!

Selvay the Cleric : (To a bard school student who we were testing the effectiveness of a healing potion on) On a scale of one to ten hitpoints, how many would you say you've just regained?

Trainee-Ranger Dark Elf Elric : (While positioned on a roof-top above, covertly spying on our enemies) (shouting) I STILL DON'T SEE ANYTHING!

Trogdor The Barbarian : Now, does anyone else want to pick a fight, or is someone going to go get a mop and clean him up? (Has a strength of 18 and had just used claymore to backstab someone... while he was invisible)

Impy, any other quotes you'd like to add to the pool?

Was necrophilia in any way involved?
