Jon is fast, very fast, and he practices with trick shots that take an amazing amount of reflexive speed. He has plenty of eye-hand coordination to make this play. Sara is off balance, falling in his direction, and Jon has the initiative. The distances are short and he knows exactly what he wants to do. Even time fugued, there are too many factors adding up to Jon getting his meat-hooks on her weapon.
I seem to recall him throwing a rock at a tree, drawing his pistol, and shooting six leaves out of midair as they fell, or something like that, as practice.
