It would make sense that in each picture where he's reloading, his thumb covers a chamber. Because, y'know, he uses his thumb to push the bullet into the chamber. To reload it.

LHS 3 -- A split second later, Sara is still trying to scythe at Jon, her right hand blade moving down towards Jon's torso, but Jon's hands, coming up from his twist, are making contact with the right half of the haft of her dolan. I don't have a good reading on the depth of the drawing, but Jon will have two hands to one on one end of Sara's weapon, with his body centered under him, while her body is off panel to the left, sliding off Jon's shoulder. Given that, for all her extra training, she probably weighs in at 120-130 lbs to his 160-180 lbs and Jon has all the lever advantage he cold possibly want. Just compare the size of their hands; Sara's in big trouble.

Jon might win, though given Paul's comments to Anita I'd have expected Warrel to be the one to fuck up the mission, but absent author railroading Sara still has the advantage. When you can move 20 times normal speed (or more) being unarmed against an opponent with a weapon is really no great disadvantage.

That's assuming that she let's him disarm her, rather than just time-fugue to kick him 5 times before he can blink, and take her weapon back. There's really no way for a normal person to win against that, absent gross stupidity on the time fugues part or Deus ex Maschina.

His thumb is over the groove in the cylinder, not a chamber. I just put it down to a minor inconsistency in the art; and maybe he _does_ have more than one pistol--one with six chambers, one with five, and another with umpteen... http://image.blog-24.com/437175.jpg :D

No kimo sabe, Jon's thumb is covering the sixth cylinder.

Jon wasn't in that fight. He was on a different mission at the time.

LOL! Now that is funny! Talk about having your cake, and eating it, too. :D I remembered the first picture of the cylinder, but couldn't find it, Thanks wolf346!

That shot is still a six-cylinder. The sixth is hidden under Jon's finger. If you look at the arrangement, the cylinders are clearly in a hexagonal pattern; you just can't see the sixth of them.

I don't think so- Jon's finger is resting on the edge of the cylinder at an angle, it isn't actually touching the surface of it to cover anything. The light bit showing under his finger is a groove in the side of the cylinder- count the other grooves, there's five of them including the one under his finger, and if you look at the position of each groove relative to the holes, the one under his finger is about where it should be based on the position of the others.

The first example may well be a 5-round revolver too, there's just some inconsistency in the art- the holes are arranged in a pentagonal pattern, even though the two farthest away from the panel's perspective have more space between them than the others. And there's not enough space between those two that another hole could fit without being really cramped. Furthermore, if you look closely at where the bullet being loaded is, neither the bullet nor his finger fully obscure the centerline between the two rearmost holes where the phantom sixth hole should be, if there was one you should at least be able to see the edge of it past the bullet being loaded.

The 'light' under his thumb is a bullet he's just loaded into the chamber. The edge of his thumb is resting against the edge of the groove you're talking about, so you wouldn't be able to see that. His thub is just coming up off the top of the bullet in that panel, so he'd just finished reloading that chamber. There are obviously five empty chambers around that one, so that gives the gun six shots.

Hmm. I see what you mean. Ah well, it doesn't really matter anyway, as someone else said Jon probably has infinite-magazine capabilities when he really needs it...

Well (beating a dead horse :P), the holes actually don't line up that well, and more importantly, he's disassembled his gun to clean it. You don't reload guns when they're disassembled. Regardless, as Gwyon said, he's got an infinite capacity magazine when he needs it...

Anywaaay, did anyone notice how Warrel changed hands twice while holding his weapon in the last frames? First he's holding the bladed end in his left hand, then his right, then back to the left to stop the bullet. Fast work, hmmm? Wonder why he didn't just duck?

Jon's thumb is covering the sixth chamber in the cylinder in both scenes. It's not fluting, it's not a trick of the light, he just has his thumb over it.

And that is most definitely not Jon that was the lone survivor of the ambush Sara committed. They don't even look that much alike. Not to mention he lost a couple fingers. And Jon was somewhere else at the time. And then we later see another Gewehr telling Jon about it, which would be pretty stupid if he was there when it happened.

LOL. That's ok, I can use any laugh at this point. :D

So, what's a duck's favorite snack? Milk and quackers. :D

What? These jokes didn't make you quack up?

Also, I'm not too afraid of the bounty, since I don't believe a "doller" is an actual unit of currency.

But it is. It amounts to something along the lines of a penny.

Nah, that's my ex. She's in Houston and just the one of her is enough to ruin your whole day

Maybe he meant Doler, meaning pain. So the reward for killing the next punner is 5 million pains inflicted on you? That seems like a pretty poor reward.

Dolor is pain. Dolores is pains...and the origin of a name.

Doler is the infinitive form of "to hurt" in Spanish.
