...Oh no. Looks like external influences suddenly got...far, far too external.

Riley!

New chapter with half-elf-shemale-knife-thrower goodness!

The two characters on the chapter cover. Riley on the left, and Leah on the right. FYI, they've already been quickly introduced during Ian's flashback, here.

Right, I saw them on the cover, just didn't know where they came from. Destichado made it sound like they were taken from some previously non-canon outside source.

Riley and... I forget her name... are some half-elves from Santuariel, Ian's home town. The only time they've officially been seen in the comic yet was when they escorted Ian away from Santuariel, but they also feature in random other filler art like Page 130 & 1/2 a.k.a. ES: The Lost Years (warning: very NSFW).

I think originally the character of the knife thrower was a suggestion by either Uncle Ghastly or Krazy Krow as a main character.

Actor.

I see this chapter is not likely to develop on Sarine-Jon relationship.

:(

They're the most fucked up yet beautiful couple I've ever seen in a webcomic. They sure as hell didn't fall in love at first sight, yet they've grown attached to each other..

Sorta..

..and we wouldn't have blamed you if you did. Hell, just saying that makes me try to copy the voice of the announcer from "Superfriends."

At least by throwing Leah & Riley on there, we'll get some extra stuff thrown in....which of course means that there will be many, many posts in regards to the other two groups of characters doing whatever the hell they're doing while we read up on the chicks.

Thank you, Poe

Yay for hermaphrodite half elves. They are such an under-represented minority in the comic :)

Also, Leah gives me a distinctly Read or Die Yomiko Readman vibe. I hope she's as brassy as the filler art suggests! (instead of quiet and slightly annoying, like Yomiko).

I thought that title went to Bush Moneymaker and Jordan Kennedy...

I was going to say something like that. (Although, Yomiko gets pretty brassy when the chips are down.)

Anyway, I wonder if this chapter is going to be about Ian coming home and curing his sister... and maybe finding out that his new god-given powers aren't as easy to control as he thought.

Except that you really, really don't want to have to dodge lawyers fired directly at your head at several times the speed of sound. But, yeah. That would have rocked harder than Chicxulub rocked the dinosaurs.

A slight minority. At the rate they are growing, they are going to become a majority demographic in 8 1/2 years. Just like they did in Japan.

She is probably quiet and shy until that errant gene or whatever the hell it is kicks in and makes her start juggling flaming orphans before dragging Riley into the back room to try for some little mutant babies. The occasional such outburst would redeem the entire character.

I wish, no... every time I start getting into it, we get a chapter switch. Nice Avatar though.
