Hey, it's not like I AGREE with the notions of censorship or am telling him he has to change anything... It's just that I recognize the real-life correlation between censorship and sales.

When I hand out fliers for ES at conventions, if I see someone who is obviously a minor accompanied by a parent, I tell the parent flat-out that there's some mature themes and language in the story. Usually they look surprised, thank me for telling them, and then either assure me that it's fine with them if their kid reads it, or tell me they'll look at it to be sure it's okay. BUT... that's a personal interaction between a parent and someone who knows the content.

I've worked in places that sold manga and anime... most of the time parents will let their kids get away with anything so long as it's not too obviously "bad for them" (like being shrinkwrapped as mature), but some parents want to know everything about something before they let their still-legally-kids read or watch it. Most bookstore workers DON'T know the content, and can't reassure a parent, so all the parent sees is something shrinkwrapped and labelled mature, and so they choose to stay on the safe side and not let their kids get it.

Bookstores know about that trend towards lower sales, and so order fewer of the books. The author gets paid less as a result. Obviously the posibility of being paid less is something it's my job to point out to Poe.

I just noticed Meji's "binoculars" spell in the third panel.

I thought that she had a hard time using any magic on herself, at least to improve her "assets". I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on that?

It could be making a form of glasses, or just a targeted spy spell...

And her "assets" lasted a while, just not overnight. So if it is a chnage to her eyes, it'll wear off in awhile.

Supposedly any magical manipulation used on her works perfectly fine... but will wear off in a day or so. She could have big boobies if she wats to bother constructing the right spell for fifteen minutes every morning.

Or she might only be resistant to polymorph-type spells. I mean, her universal translator spell appears to have held out pretty well this entire time-- we've seen her conversing intelligibly mere seconds after being rudely awakened early in the morning, after all.

Of course, I don't think many people would need a long-distance vision spell to last very long anyway.

Or Meji might cast her translation spell every night before she goes to bed. Or, rather than invoking it on herself, she invoked it on a talisman that she carries. Or a dozen other things.

Now wait-a-hold-it guys. Breast improvement effects Meji's physical form. Binocular spells, translator magic, and others things do not. Nothing that tries to alter her shape lasts very long. However, aids to her shape, not being a part of her, should have no trouble with either duration or function.

It's the difference between a padded bra and breast implants. Yes, I know that most of you pervs out there can't see that. Then think of it like the difference between an inflatable sex doll and your average hot young female. ... Oh? ... can't see the difference there either? ... As for the strip, I have reason to wonder why they didn't make it where they were going. Seems they crash landed a few hectares short, wherever Riley and Leah are. In that case, how are they getting to Santoreul?

Ian doesn't seem swallowed up by Anilis, just enhanced. Maybe there's an inner war that he hasn't realized yet, but maybe Anilis has no consciousness to speak of while in his body.

A hectare's about a hundred meters square. The wagon looks to be a half mile to a mile off. That's no more than twenty minutes if Ian can stay upright, or if Meji can improvise a pogo-stick spell. Knowing her, she can probably generate one by expanding on her Animate Vibrator II incantation.

And, yes, tis a shame about the decreased sales. I wish people didn't have the "oh no, it could be something that potentially maybe I'll be offended by if I glance inside of it, and I could never have my beliefs challenged because that would shatter my universe and as we all know I'm the most perfect lil' peach whatever deity I spend my worthless existence venerating has ever created" reaction to things that are labeled as mature. We'd live in a much prettier world if people didn't assume they were right about such things or read the word mature as thought-evoking rather than offensive.

offinsive is a community based standard. However Errant story doesn;t seem to carry that flag on any of the sites currently selling it. The fact of the matter is that "Mature" labled titles sell worse just like "R" rated and higher movies gross less on average than G and PG.

Impy and Poe's livelyhood depends on sales amongst other things and so avoiding anything that would decrease sales is beneficial (or benefinancial)

Actually, I know about the sales loss and it's gotten worse since the 60's, not better. On a strict technicality, censorship, of any form, is unconstitutional and I don't care what the local community standards are. It's just too bad that many of my fellow Americans no longer know what a Constitution is. Let alone, have read the damned thing.
