Ann-il-is
Ann-i-lis
An-ni-lis
An-nil-is
Ann-eel-is
Ann-ee-lis
An-nee-lis
An-neel-is

But I really don't see how anyone is getting any kind of "a" sound out of the middle "i". What language pronounces an "i" like an English "a"?

Er . . . who is doing that?

Note that part of the problem might be that no one here is going to make the effort to insert a "schwa" symbol into their messages.

I was going more for Anilingus, hence the "gus" and since it contains all the same letters as Anilis.

Loudly, in your place of employment.

I did that before even reading your prompting. I got a couple weird looks.

That was less prompting and more just shaking my head with the premonition that somebody would be trying that in their place of employment. I am pleased that these forums have not let me down.

Ann-A-Lis...would be my guess.

She was the goddess of a certain sex act that sounds mysteriously like her name, Poe just forgot to mention that part. I "gus" it was a slip-up.

To be perfectly clear: "Ayn-A-Lis sex" is merely kinky, though illegal in Georgia. "Ann-a-lis sex" will get your license to practice psychiatry pulled in most states.

Oh, so you expect me to read and understand my own messages, too. . .
