Ok, forums move in progress. We'll be using the hostname forums-temp.kyhm.com for the next day or two while the DNS changes complete. No need to update bookmarks and such, as we'll be going back to forums.kyhm.com in a day or two.

The code has been patched up to the current phpBB, 2.0.22, or more accurately all the mods and tweaks we've been used to have been patched into a clean 2.0.22.

Winners of the admin elections (see <a href="viewtopic.php?p=317372#317372">the results</a>) are now admins.

As always, please report any bugs or odd behavior you encounter.

Well, since the move has been made, and we have our new admins in place, i think it's time to start <a href="http://forums-temp.kyhm.com/viewtopic.php?t=10552">making the changes discussed here.</a>

how should the community proceed from here? votes? (ugh but maybe neccesary) or the admins just pick the version they like and do it? Should we set a time frame?

i want to see the new world order (or disorder) as soon as possible.

edit because i'm a typing retard.

Well, part of the purpose of the proposals thread was to get some form of public opinion on what should be done. If there's anyone that considers that there was sufficient public comment, then it can go to the admins to build something coherent. If not, we can go for a stickied thread in unrelated pointing to the proposals and/or voting and give it a couple of days to mature.

i think we've got the ideas phase for board reorganization and the user guidelines fairly well nailed down, and i at least am ready to draft them up into official proposals. Further discussion may be required, but the thread's been there for a week or so, and we have invited discussion.

I say draft up a few examples, ask people to vote for the versions they like, and make suggestions for impovement. give the poll say another week and then implement the changes decided upon.

If everyone is happy with the proposals now, though, i don't see a problem in implementing immediately, but you know how people get when stuff changes and they feel they weren't consulted or given a chance to comment.

I don't believe community votes are necessary for the proposals - suggestions and constructive feedback before implementing something is more worthwhile than making decisions based on meaningless polls.

Also, if we do more votes I may have to :killyourself: Sometimes folks just need to stop dicking around and move forward, or nothing ever gets done.

By the way, setting custom titles for spoilers no longer works. it's something Omni did custom, if i remember rightly.

I did indeed, I don't have access to the new server yet on an ftp level, so I'll just PM kyhmmy the difference if I still have it around.

What I did, what I allowed nesting of the tags by simply changing the function that it calls when it parses the tag from the bold, italics, and underline type, to the same one the quote tag and the list tag calls.

Then I also added the java for showing to the header of the topic review section because phpbb uses iframes there.

And the only really custom part of the coding was adding the spoiler="blather" and really I just copied how the quote tag did it.
