We've got a bunch of forum that just don't get used any more apart from the occasional spammer that dumps their load, which is subsequently cleaned up by admins. The last post dates speak fairly clearly about how useless most of them are, and the fact that images can now be attached to all posts makes Image Board 2.0 supremely useless. As a result I think it may be worthwhile to lock all remaining forums apart from General Discussion, Meta and the horrible SP forum.

Any questions? Comments? General apathy?

Is this a goddamned democracy? Ban everyone. Damn the man. Save the Empire.

sp should also be locked. there is no reason to leave it there. at all.
the purpose of the image board was making it accessible only to registered members because the bandwidth the images were using up was getting pretty ridiculous, wasnt it?
not that anyone gives a fuck anymore anyway

why are you even bothering? can new people even register?

I don't see any reason why we shouldn't just consolidate everything down to one board. I mean, seriously, do you really think people are going to complain too much that they now have too many posts to sift through? Back in the Golden Age of the Forum, yes, it made sense to separate and organize everything, but it just seems silly now to have separate boards for the two or three threads that are active at any time now.

actually it makes looking for old threads hell.
the last time forums were mushed up together was a fucking mess and it would be better to lock and archive the unneeded garbage instead of mixing it with the shit thats still in use.
btw search is ded

Exactly.

Yes. I suppose I could close registrations instead. I'll have to look into that...

Oh hey, I can turn off new registration and completely kill the pretense that we're trying to rebuild.

Howso? I'm lazy and cannot be bothered trying to find out what is not working, so you can explain it. Not that I'll be able to do anything about it to fix it.

Effectively that is what I intend, except only for future postingness. Anything that's in an existing forum can stay there.

The best thing about a democracy is pretending to listen to the voters and then doing the exact opposite of what they said.

well the other day i tried searching for something i know was there somewhere and i got "no results"
then i tried searching for something a lot more common and got the same.
maybe it was just dead that one day or it doesnt include ancient threads, i cant be arsed to check again

i didnt realize there was rebuilding intended. i mean, why?
either way leave registration open, its not like anyone new actually joins and it could be fun to abuse some newbies if someone does

Odd. I may have to look into it...

Well there was two years ago at the time of the last big dramafest and the planned reorganisation of the forums. Back then there was still a small amount of hope, care and more people.

There's still around a dozen chinese spammers a week. I generally delete them fairly quickly.

Right, all forums except general discussion, sp and here are locked. I'll get around to moving them to where they can be conveniently ignored later.

Oh hey, I'd forgotten that it even existed. It hasn't been used in forever, so it's easy to forget. Also, Blue Sun Missile hasn't been around in several months, which makes it even easier to forget.
