i just saw it with my GF, good movie. Was pissed that the queen gave it up for free when you just knew the smiling asshole wouldn't do a goddamn thing for her. Get a couple of the boys together and torture him like it's 1999, then you'll get the goods.

This was, both artistically and morally/politically, perhaps the worst movie I have ever seen in my life.

I find Icy's dislike of this movie oddly encouraging.

Actor.

PG rated 300

Not for those who don't like to laugh.

It's the most beautiful propaganda of the century.
A king breaks his own country's laws to defend it, fights alien masses that look either like raving zealots or the gay pride parade, complete with a drag queen leader. His wife even utters the exact phrase "freedom isn't free".

Also what kind of idiot would walk around with enemy currency on their person.

I still maintain you are crazy dumb if you think 300 is propaganda for anything besides not wearing shirts while stabbing people.

Judas Iscariot called. He wants his thirty pieces of silver back, with interest.

actually now that I think about this a bit more, I do understand the viewpoint a bit. I mean yeah the major theme of the movie is how awesome masculinity is. What I don't understand is how it is possible to go to the theater and pay to watch a movie about SPARTA expecting anything besides exactly that. As for it being some sort of allegory for current events, that is a big stretch.

Now the screenplay was awful I'll grant that. The plot was disjointed, the characters were one dimensional and it was full of gratuitous special effects. But, again, why did you expect anything different? Comic book movies are always like that.

I watched it for the gratutious stabbins, and I was pleased.

I feel that the military needs to bring back the boot + bikini + cape look. I would proudly wear that around the ship.

I even have tools that resemble spears laying about.

If anything, this movie tried to move AWAY from any potential hot potatoes and that sort of politcal correctness totally ruined the movie for me. There was like, four swarthy guys including Xerxes who spoke for the Persians, and the rest of their army we mostly see conscripts from countries they conquered. And even more  were the Immortals, who were masked mutant ninjas. Persians In Name Only.

Dude, if you're going to think about it that way, you totally forgot to say, "Lolz, women with political influence in Spartan society."
