Even though the graphics seems good, I really hoped that SC2 would be a different game. Different from SC1 I mean.
I’ll admit, I was hoping for something a bit more innovative as well, maybe along the lines of Homeworld with more differentiated sides, if only because the single-player menu animation in the original Starcraft always excited me more than the game itself. This looks like just a 3-D facelift with some new units and abilities. Which, being honest, I’m fine with and will probably make British Fucktons of money, so I can’t really blame them.
To anyone complaining about the graphics, you have to consider:
1. The sheer number of units that will be on-screen at times, especially with the Zerg.
2. The lower power of the average PC in Korea, which is going to be kind of a
big market for this thing.
Yes, they could've given the Battlecruisers 3 million polys each with extra bumpmapping and Béarnaise sauce on the side, but speaking as someone who doesn’t want to have to upgrade my PC to avoid slowdown in large battles, I think it looks peachy (Keen, even).
The thing I find interesting from a gameplay perspective is how much more mobility everyone seems to have. What with the Zerg’s giant worm transport, Terran’s jetpack guys, and Protoss’s various warp abilities. As a Terran player who likes to turtle (or does that go without saying?), this makes me a mildly sad panda, although it should lead to faster-paced games.

The one they made doesn’t count.
