Oh I used to watch it. It was one of those hangovers from a failed relationship with a guy who made me watch it until I liked it. And I have been known to still read the manga for something to do with my time.

But then, you guys read Harry Potter. And the ones of you who don't like to watch loli anime or obsessed with dick girls and tentacle rape or boi love or transexual cat girl porn.

So you know, enjoy casting that first stone.

The Remake of The Wicker Man was hilarious.

"BEES! NOOOOO!"

Actor.

I know I know.

It's what makes me so endearing.

Also - THE BEES WERE NOT IN HIS EYES. THEY WERE NOT. GOD.

I firmly believe that the Wicker Man remake was actually just documentary footage of Nicholas Cage flipping out on an island, punching women, breaking into people's houses and being a massive jerk.

Somehow I am not surprised by this.

As far as I'm concerned, anything that encourages people to read is a good thing.

The downslide of literacy in today's society is one of the most concerning trends currently occurring.

Another being whether people are comprehending and learning from what they read.

I'm not sure what anyone could learn from Harry Potter.

Something about wizardry maybe.

Also: Not a fan of Harry Potter ONLY because I don't like Fantasy as a genre.

Give me: Six thousand spaceships burning the skies in rain as they glided towards the the surface of a cast-off world no longer needed in the war they all died for millennia before. The first and final sparks of metal on stone, the crashing waves of echoes upon the planets surface, sea and land as their final resting place was decided by chance and the immutable laws of Newton each working in tandem upon the steel behemoths, they bought with them fires and storms, chaos and destruction, as the cascade sounded around the planet, forever now a tomb.

None of this: The dragon attacked and despite the fact that he didn't have enough magic in him before he now suddenly had more magic in him today, because he believed in himself and his friends believed in him as well, I'd do Hermoine.

Actor.

Answering that would lead to my arrest so I'll abstain.

I honestly have no problem with your opinion Onion. It's your opinion, have it all you want.

I just enjoy periodically tearing into people online. Especially after the kind of month I've had.

And I reserve the right not to care.

And I reserve the right to support that Harry Potter is an amalgamation of many childhood stories I loved and it's underlying mythos is all-too-familiar.

That said, I think it has introduced a lot of kids/adults to something they never got as a kid. Those that got it don't really seem to enjoy Potter, basing this on my own experience and conversations with other people who read/have read/once read the books.

I read the first three books and soon saw through the predictability. Inevitably, when carrying on a series, ideas don't run so fresh. Most series have one or two really good books in them and the subsequent books sell because readers have become emotionally tied to the characters.

Even if it's same-y and too familiar, I see the appeal of Harry Potter.

On a side note, I agree with Onion on J.K Rowling's looks.

I read four of the books before I realized that they all had the same plot. I wasn't too smart back then. :smith:

I have a hard time believing you'd abstain from anything.
