Wherefore rejoice? What conquest brings he home?
What tributaries follow him to Kyhm's,
To grace in captive bonds his chariot-wheels?
You blocks, you stones, you worse than senseless things!
O you hard hearts, you cruel men of Kyhm's,
Knew you not Krylex? Many a time and oft
Have you climb'd up to walls and battlements,
To towers and windows, yea, to chimney-tops,
Your infants in your arms, and there have sat
The livelong day, with patient expectation,
To see great Krylex pass the streets of Kyhm's:
And when you saw his chariot but appear,
Have you not made an universal shout,
That Unrelated Stuff trembled underneath her banks,
To hear the replication of your sounds
Made in her concave shores?
And do you now put on your best attire?
And do you now cull out a holiday?
And do you now strew flowers in his way
That comes in triumph over Krylex's blood? Be gone!
Run to your houses, fall upon your knees,
Pray to the gods to intermit the plague
That needs must light on this ingratitude.

Go, go, good countrymen, and, for this fault,
Assemble all the poor men of your sort;
Draw them to Tiber banks, and weep your tears
Into the channel, till the lowest stream
Do kiss the most exalted shores of all.

See whether their basest metal be not moved;
They vanish tongue-tied in their guiltiness.
Go you down that way towards the Capitol;

This way will I disrobe the images,
If you do find them deck'd with ceremonies.

May we do so?
You know it is the feast of Lupercal.

It is no matter; let no images
Be hung with Rince's trophies. I'll about,
And drive away the vulgar from the streets:
So do you too, where you perceive them thick.
These growing feathers pluck'd from Rince's wing
Will make him fly an ordinary pitch,
Who else would soar above the view of men
And keep us all in servile fearfulness.

Not to sound like an asshole, but I've found a good rule of thumb for the internet is this:

If you don't like what's happening, you don't HAVE to be here.

I moved it, and I do not have admin access only moderator access.

The thread was moved because it did not relate to Errant Story. In the interests of fairness you were all first given a chance to relocate the conversation yourselves as requested by a mod there, but when you chose not to I did so for you.

Wow. Does that logic extend to everything?

Like "Wow! I don't like the world. Man I don't have to be here. Now I'm going to drown myself"?

You sure are a champ.

not to sound like an asshole but by your own rule you could just as easily have fucked off back to ES than told us this. either way you will be ignored!

Ok. How about the fact stating that when a person does not like something they should immediately remove themselves from its presence or somehow be at fault for being there at all is retarded avoidant crap which may be a rule of thumb which is applicable to some people but may also at the same time be comeplelty unapplcable to others given that something that is true for one person is not necessarily true for another.

In this situation finalcarrots is telling me that if I do not like how this board is run I should just leave. An interesting theory and yet it doesn't quite take into account a number of factors, some of which being I would prefer to stay and argue my case in the hopes of fair treatment and a successful future for kyhm forums and that as wise as this advice seems to be it doesn't make a lot of sense in light of the actual context of the sitauation.

It's a weak, unconsidered argument that makes no real attempt to address the subject at hand and on a personal level I find it only to be worth an equally glib and unconsidered reply.

Better?

The subject at hand is that you have no monetary stake in the boards, only a personal desire to stay here. You've been here a long time, yes, but that doesn't mean you have to stay behind and bitch about fair treatment. As long as I've been watching, far longer than I've been participating, I've seen you rip apart new participants and otherwise just be a bully to everyone.

You may have garnered respect by being here a long time and perhaps by being friendly behind the scenes, I don't know. From what I do see, it seems like you have a habit of turning anyone's argument into a straw man about a minor point and using that to strengthen your own position, despite that not actually being a way to strengthen an argument.

I'm not saying you're a bad person or a bitch, or anything like that, I'm just saying if you dislike the way the boards are run so much, you aren't required to participate. Just walking away would seem to be a sight better than staying around and making participation miserable for others.

No I amn't required to participate, but I would *like* to participate.

That's been the reasoning behind this whole adventure - I, and other, would like very much to participate in the goings on of this community. I'd like to participate fairly in the spirit of good intention and fun. I'd like to help participate in turning this place around. I'd like to help participate in creating original content to keep this place going. I'd like to stop having to be a bully to new members who do not know that despite the fact that there are no official rules that there are accepted behaviours that are held by the wider community. I'd like to participate in fostering an atmosphere of welcome and good relations between posters and I'd especially like to participate in being a part of these forums becoming something that people can actually be proud to be a part of rather than horredously embarassed to be assocaited with.

Of course I am not *required* to participate. I am required to participate in very little, apart from the meeting of the basic standards necessary to remain alive. I am however compelled to participate, as you seem to be here.

If you don't want to take your own advice - if you do not like the way things are 'run' in unrelated (and they are run and they are run by individual members taking it upon themselves to act out against 'bad behaviour' since they've had to assert some kind of authority to remain afloat in the power vaccuum at kyhms) then you are not required to participate here.

if this community was visited only by those who would pay for it, it would be a very small community. Something Awful is the only P2P forum i know of that is successful, an that is because it is BIG, and full of event-like threads that encourage participation. Kyhms is a small backwater community on the internet, and if the 'owners' want to play the 'my way or the highway' card, they are well within their rights, but cutting such a small userbase by any amount would be very dangerous.

Not that i think Carrots speaks for the 'owners' in any sense whatsoever.

Oh I don't have a problem with the way things are run. I have a problem with bullying new members around because they want to participate in forums other than ES. It seems every time someone new posts regularly in Unrelated, there's a leap to make that person feel completely unwelcome to post. If it's an exclusive club run, and yes, you do mean run, by individual members, then the club is very excluding of anyone who isn't one of those members.

Maybe I got it all wrong in thinking everyone's opinions, if not juvenile and screaming of obscenities and cries for "moar cock/tits", were allowed and welcome. Perhaps if you so desire to separate the comic forums from the rest, it's because people actually seem to enjoy the comic forums and expressing their opinions. In another thread, you slammed Hil for her dislike of the Unrelated forum. It's not just Hil that dislikes it, it's a number of others who post exclusively in the comic forums because of a feeling of "unwelcomeness" in Unrelated.

You are among the individuals who sees it as your obligation to run, and yes, you mean run, Unrelated, but you seem to have lost sight of your own goal to foster a spirit of fun and good relations. For lack of a better way to say it, you present everyone with an "I hate you because you're not me" attitude and deride the attempts of others to provide entertainment.

In short, the very things you say you want are the things you seem to be working hardest against. Not to personally jab at you here, but I am certain you will read this and disregard it, settling that your way is THE way. It's that spirit that defeats "fun and good relations".

Terribly sorry, I mean "monetary stake" to mean, "one who pays for the forums to remain up". Sorry for not clarifiying there, bud.
